There seems to have been a craze lately over the old Jo-han Mavericks and Comets, so this is a stock build I came up with.  I used a Pro-stock Comet kit that was still sealed from the '70s, AMT '67 Mustang/GT350 chassis slightly shortened,  wheels, mirrors, hood scoop and engine from AMT's '69 Cougar Eliminator, seats from an AMT Torino.  Grabber Lime paint was supplied by MCW, and decals by Keith Marks.  I'll be keeping the 429 engine from the Comet kit for something else.

Looks great. If you'd have just shown the photos without describing the various parts that went into it I'd have assumed it was a nicely done, out of the box build, but you've incorporated everything very cleanly.

Great looking little Comet. Perfect color for the time and all the trim looks real cleanly done as well.

Well done.  Did something similar with a die-cast.

I always wanted to do a Comet GT.  Bought a bench seat from I think Missing Link and bought stripes from Keith Marks but that is as far as I got.  Love the GT you did.
