Tommy124 Posted November 20, 2020 Author Posted November 20, 2020 (edited) Thanks for your feedback guys, I appreciate it! 12 hours ago, AmericanMuscleFan said: That's a rare bird! I only saw one on the road and it was painted exactly like yours. I don't know if other color combos were available (I'm not a GM specialist). I haven't seen a lot of 69 Firebirds, regardless of the body trim, so I'm assuming they were produced in smaller quantities than the 67-68 model years. Good job Thomas, it's absolutely beautiful and clean! Thanks Francis! This was the only color combo available. To my knowledge, only about 700 TA's of this gen Firebird have been built. Probably because the TA cost a considerable premium of 725 USD at the time. As regards the kit, I never liked the looks of the front grille too much on built models I saw. But then I stumbled upon images of a nice TA built by Sean Svendsen (http://www.svensworldofwheels.com/69_pontiac_trans_am_page.html) and I decided that white was the body color to go with. The contrast with the front grille is more subtle that way. And as the blue TA stripes were included in my kit, I went for the TA aswell. Actually, the hardest piece of work on this model was to open the Ram air intakes and to make the panel lines that were missing around those intakes, free-hand. Not perfect, but turned out okay on the final result, I think. Edited November 20, 2020 by Tommy124
Cliff W Posted December 1, 2020 Posted December 1, 2020 Great Job Thomas! This is one of the best builds of this kit I have seen. You avoided two of my pet peeves on '69 Firebird build ups - The chrome headlight trim and the very noticeable rubber gasket around the front bumper are often forgotten. I also dig your photo backgrounds!
Tommy124 Posted December 2, 2020 Author Posted December 2, 2020 Thanks Cliff! Yes, I think there are some "trademark" details on the front part of the car which have to be considered. The rubber gasket certainly is of them!
