Saw The Whale on an airplane. The attendant warned me that it is a tearjerker. I watched it anyway. Glad I did. I must have looked pretty silly. Wish I was not on the isle. Still worth it. Great movie.

Also saw John Work 4 - Meh.

Wife wanted to take in a movie today . Her pick . She chose Sound of Freedom .  Based on a true story . If you don’t know it’s about child sex trafficking . ( can I say that ?) It was actually filmed 5 years ago but only made it to the big screen this week . I can’t say why because it would be political . I hope it was ok to post this . Was an eye opener for us .

I won't watch it. Don't want to watch a movie on child trafficking.

The phrase "Sound of Freedom" to me only pertains to military jet noise. Nothing else... not even the movie title made sense to me except it was a quote used in it.

It’s sickening how much money drives human trafficking and the drug trade and how the money made buys silence and protection and half hearted efforts to lessen the demand and punish those involved in illegal activities.  I have not seen the movie yet but I can only imagine the frustration of those trying to deal with these international problems that seem to get little widespread media attention.

I can think of two good reasons.

The Getaway is one of my favorite movies of all time. I enjoy it more every time I see it, and I've seen it a lot.

Surprisingly, the Alec Baldwin remake isn't horrible. Oh, it's not as good as the original, but it was nowhere near as bad as I expected.

I agree with you I have both dvds ? I enjoy watching the original the most. I do like  Alec Baldwin and is a decent movie!

Just watched “Skyscraper” with Dwayne Johnson and Neve Campbell on tv. This brings totally unrealistic stunts to a new level I think.? After leaping from an overhead crane over to the 150?th floor of the burning building, the Hero wraps duct tape around his hands sticky side out and does a spiderman crawl around the outside of the building.?? I thought for sure at the end, he would use the paraglide chute that he got from the villains to glide off the building with his daughter to safety, but no…he gets picked up by a police helicopter.? Sure am glad I didn’t pay to see it.

We went to see The Hold Overs yesterday. Great movie set in the Christmas Holidays of 1970 and 1971 in an upper New York boy's school. Lots of great dialog and acting. The story line will give you plenty of laughter as well as a tear or two along the way.

Oh No guys... I watched The Family Switch  A Holiday movie now showing on Netflix. It's a Christmas movie set at Christmas time but it isn't overly about Christmas typically. Jennifer Garner play the mom, She's the Smart Architect super mom with 3 kids holding it down and Ed Helm is the Dad who trys to be hip and relate to his son. He's the Band teacher at the school his kids go to. It's simular to Freaky Friday  and other films where the parents and kids switch bodies. To me, seems like a traumatizing experience and you'd never try to function as someone else, but it makes for a funny senerio. This one has some funny moments and some cringe moments also but worth the watch. Notably because it has a cool Van and a Camaro that isn't what it's license plate says it is but that's Hollywood for ya. Anyway go on and watch it if you want to but just beware of the cringeiest scene in the movie if your sensitive to destruction... it's all I can say without spoiling the movie.

Yeah…after had watched The Family Switch trailer, I’m gonna pass on it. I did enjoy watching All the Light We Cannot See. Very good series (4 episodes) and highly recommended.

I saw that. Excellent movie from a story, characters, and acting point of view. But if you know anything about WWII, it makes NO sense at all. Best to imagine this story happens in some other universe completely. If you can, it's quite good.

I'm a huge WW2 buff and yes, I agree. It was well put together based on the book even though it is a story.

It was interesting to see real images of the destruction of Saint-Malo.

James Bond's latest iteration of his Aston Martin DB5.     Enjoyable fantasy car with a coup!e of impossible gadgets.

An extendable spinner/shredder coming out from the front wheels would be an impossibility. How would you steer the car?

Also the two gatling type machine guns in the front wings. Where would you fit the ammo feeds for them in the car?

I have to say that I enjoy a Bond movie just as much as anyone else before any keyboard warriors start!

And hey!      A Brit actually gets to be the good guy instead of the usual villain in them!

Well in honor and memory of the passing of actor Ryan O Neal,I watched one of the best high speed chase flicks, the 1978 movie,”The Driver”.(The Driver,(Ryan O Neal),steals cars for use as getaway vehicles in robberies around Los Angeles. He is known among criminals for his high skill driving, and his high price. And is notorious among the police, particularly for The Detective who is obsessed with capturing The Driver whom he calls "Cowboy") Also stars Bruce Dern as the LAPD detective.??So if you never saw it,check it out.

Watched Gran Turismo last night and was pleasantly surprised. At first, I thought it was a movie based on the video game. Little I realized yes, it is a video game but also a true story about taking the Top SIM racing gamers off Gran Turismo for a chance to race in a real world of racing. Definitely a five star movie.
