Scalper Posted November 19, 2020 Posted November 19, 2020 It’s bee. Brought to my attention that I have not built a Porsche in a while. Now on my main bench I bring you this. engine mostly assembled at this point. Not sure what colour the car will be. Only have one can of paint left. And it’s a pearl green. Hmmmmm
89AKurt Posted November 19, 2020 Posted November 19, 2020 This is still a popular kit. Be careful with the fit of the engine into the chassis, at the back cross member, the two pins, with interference of the accessory belt. Test fit before painting the chassis/body. I was disappointed the intercoolers are missing. Also be sure to putty the wing/bonnet joint. Have fun!
Scalper Posted November 19, 2020 Author Posted November 19, 2020 Good to know thanks for the heads up
Funkychiken Posted November 19, 2020 Posted November 19, 2020 Andre, your build will be a killer, its good advice from Kurt, the fit of the engine carrier is poor at the back, I had to dissassemble and cut bits off the frame to get it to fit. I decided to go against filling the wing gaps, as i couldn;t see a good way to paint it when it's assembles, but it sure would look better filled. Also, my bonnet lid was twisted good luck, its a great kit!
Dann Tier Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 This is gonna be GREAT to watch, Bud!!!....thanks for sharing!!!
TransAmMike Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 Looking forward to more pics of this cool looking Porsche. I have to decide a color for the 911 club sport I have to build. I'm leaning to a pearl shade of blue.
Pete75 Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 Cool. This may be next up for me so I'll enjoy watching. Really like the weathered effect on the engine, what did you use?
Scalper Posted December 7, 2020 Author Posted December 7, 2020 Thanks guys .. I would like to build to Komfort Edition. the most common of the 959's . going to have to check if the kit comes with the driver side mirrors and full interior. and of course the special hydraulic suspension. if it dosnt have those bits it better have a roll cage then. but i dont see one. in the box when I last checked. Kinda bummed if i cant build a actual factory car. form the box

Scalper Posted December 7, 2020 Author Posted December 7, 2020 Small update on the F-40 killer. More engine work done. More painting and touch ups. Going to start thinking my plan of attack for he rear deck. Thanks for the input in regards to that. Shocks and brakes up next
Scalper Posted December 11, 2020 Author Posted December 11, 2020 Small update brakes installed. Up next intake and turbos.

Scalper Posted December 13, 2020 Author Posted December 13, 2020 Starting sanding the mold lines. TransAmMike Posted December 13, 2020 Posted December 13, 2020 Sounds like good color choices Andre, never can go wrong with black and red. As I said, looking forward to it.
Scalper Posted December 15, 2020 Author Posted December 15, 2020 Working on the pipes. I think the turbos need a different colour. Think I’ll paint them gun metal.
Scalper Posted December 18, 2020 Author Posted December 18, 2020 Thanks Dan. Love this stuff. Just a few dabs and details just start popping.
TransAmMike Posted December 18, 2020 Posted December 18, 2020 Engine looks great Andre! Never used that panel line stuff but it sure made the details standout. Guess I gotta some.

Crazy isn't it? December 20th, Great White North, and we can do stuff like this outside. My garage isn't heated, so I got some stuff quickly sprayed. Plus 4 here right now. I like the colour you chose!
TransAmMike Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 Wayyyyyyyt a minute here!! You actually spray painted in 2 degree weather?? I sure didn't think that was possible?. I'm assuming rattle can right?
