Good afternoon friends.

A new box on the desktop and a new build.

I looked at this box for a long time, and now it is at work.

The most beautiful car with chic shapes and huge rear fins. Legendary three hundredth.

Here's a box.

IMG_5488.thumb.JPG.941d7d49e082a4dd6a37c91ab707ad9c.JPG

Made in 1999.

IMG_5490.thumb.JPG.c251d958ec77a13744d3e7f64cfd9d19.JPG

The first in the box is a huge body. Really a barge.

IMG_5491.thumb.JPG.e9d7570c854a6b16ef61c9e0565b8053.JPG

So far, my largest model, the dimensions are truly impressive.

IMG_5492.thumb.JPG.fab32699b61a5a3a55498033f77dac2c.JPG

Very good embossing, it will be easy to paint in three colors, as on a real prototype.

IMG_5493.thumb.JPG.b1c358b4583e9b5f3134604960241e19.JPG

I was pleasantly surprised by the ceiling inside the interior.

A small imitation of wiring under the hood.

Glass sprue.

IMG_5496.thumb.JPG.709ac062c839723c0cd0b1a852fa9058.JPG

It is immediately evident that additional headlights are given for the custom.

Bottom. Huge.

The carpets on the floor are also very very pleased.

Next sprue

The detail is amazing.

The letters, however, some indistinct ones, upset me a little.

The door cards are gorgeous.

So is the back seats.

Move on.

Huge frame.

Exhaust, suspension parts.

I liked the battery very much.

The springs are also good.

More details.

The steering wheel is good!

The last sprue.

Here it is unusual for AMT, instrument panel up just under the decal.

Whitewalls are given with white plastic, but, most likely, I will be painted.

IMG_5519.thumb.JPG.8681579a88ee957cf3eb7f4f631097f8.JPG

B. F. Goodrich tires.

IMG_5520.thumb.JPG.170e57ea6817299b8f2ad14f8ebb92fc.JPG

For the first time! For the first time in my modeling practice, a seamless protector.

IMG_5521.thumb.JPG.be5b7248faaa36960a68a22751965764.JPG

Well, they can! Why then is there always a disgusting seam or displacement? Unclear.

Taillights too - stock and custom.

IMG_5522.thumb.JPG.7509fca17ec87642fea7bf0fe6894790.JPG

Chrome sprue.

IMG_5524.thumb.JPG.3509f1b83a6b8ec17f986b17d9e39986.JPG

The turn signal should be made of transparent glass, but they give it to us in chrome, a mess, of course.

I bought the set from hands, but the decals saw a lot of some BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH, apparently.

IMG_5525.thumb.JPG.d4a1edfa6594c79e94c505d896892f7a.JPG

But, uncritically, the damage on the paper itself, the decals are good.

Well, a huge nice manual.

Tomorrow I will start building, start, as always, with the engine.

Looks like an interesting model. I never paid much attention to '57 Chryslers (being a huge '57 Chevy guy) even tho a special  car in that it is a 300. But that is a great looking car and will  make a great build.

I always chuckle when they detail the cylinder head mechanicals that you will never see after you put the rocker covers on.

Good luck with it.

Good evening, everyone, after a long sabbatical, I'm starting to actively build.

We start with the engine. Everything is removed from the sprue.

IMG_5606.JPG.52538a15aeff65e44656a90aceee3580.JPG

Processed and prepared for priming.

IMG_5607.JPG.4461a90b27a3e4c4c8ab4e0ff0a2de0c.JPG

These clever whitewalls, which are molded from plastic and inserted into rubber tires, turned out to be a surprise. The holes in them are much smaller than necessary. The result is pornography. The disc does not fit completely and sticks out because of the whitewall.

IMG_5608.JPG.4f9752ad1bed258d5f14dfa19c9e7015.JPG

IMG_5609.JPG.d00acabf939b53a6629480afd0cd4871.JPG

Why this is done, I cannot understand. We take a dremel in our hands and grind it from the inside.

IMG_5610.JPG.0942313b2a3034bc3330f2723c098c1b.JPG

Now that's great. Before and after.IMG_5611.JPG.44cc9f06f85c2ef9447307dead1fb4fd.JPG

IMG_5612.JPG.606b3699f73e478bebc7205cf3b6f4c8.JPG

Comparisons of the whitewall itself before and after.

IMG_5613.JPG.9e6f6da9a8445e140c6ee62b2037f70b.JPG

All wheels are processed.

IMG_5614.JPG.d30466742744d58766b90a0550cfefc4.JPG

Also, interior and undercarriage parts have been processed.

IMG_5615.JPG.c2beef9931be985a16fea4511adc33c0.JPG

Thank you for attention.

I remember seeing one of these when they were brand new. I was in high school in '57 when one of these parked right next to our car. This was the dawn of big tail fins and lots of Shiny chrome so this was really a visually striking vehicle. The one I saw was green as I remember it now. Good luck with your build and for posting your "let's open the box" review for those thinking about adding this kit to their stash.

I bought this kit, several actually....just for the Chrysler Firepower engine and Torqueflite transmission.

Looking forward to seeing this build.

Good afternoon friends.

Another update arrived in time.

In the set we are given as many as 3 sets of headlights.

Stock at the very bottom, it's strange that there are only 2 pieces without risks, well, the headlights with holes surprized a little, why this is applicable at all.

IMG_5626.JPG.e4df5eb7bd7edcc3da397a81a2f2da7d.JPG

All the remaining parts are prepared.

IMG_5627.JPG.176328698ecab3b1d4d0a0874471e528.JPG

Everything is primed.

IMG_5631.JPG.3c353e38147fc5068977b05046a75232.JPG

Painted in basic colors.

IMG_5632.JPG.299137ae31a10f5deb50d4214962dfa9.JPG

And additional colors are laid.

IMG_5633.JPG.b24e1812004c66dbef40f81560ada1d0.JPG

The decals presented me with another surprise.

IMG_5647.JPG.005cf205b9b0f506dde0ab84ff770913.JPG

A plate from a set, decals too. How so, history is silent.

IMG_5647.JPG.005cf205b9b0f506dde0ab84ff770913.JPG

Well, the most delicious for me - engine is completed.

The turn signal should be made of transparent glass, but they give it to us in chrome, a mess, of course.

A friend of mine in our club garage owns a white 1957 Chrysler 300C and I see the car every time I'm there, he has just rebuilt the 392 Hemi and are prepairing the car for a new paintjob...it wasn't bad before but he wanted it to be perfect.
Just to clarify, the lens under the tail light is not for the turn signal, it's the backup lights and yes you are quite right, they should be transparent clear.
The rear turn signals on most classic American cars are the same as the brake lights wich flicks on and off when it's on and it's in the same bulb as the regular tail light wich has two filaments, one for the tail light and one for the brake/turn signal...so it's behind the red lens.
The front turn signals are often the same as the parking lights and is clear or in some cases amber, in my country they have to be clear as we aren't allowed to have a steady amber light at the front of our cars, amber or orange turn signals yes but not any other lights.

Nice work on the engine, it looks beautiful.
