Captain Spaulding Posted December 13, 2020 Posted December 13, 2020 Time to start my latest project, Revell's 1968 Dodge Dart 2'n 1. Car is definitely getting the 426 Hemi for the motor, body will be blue and leaning towards a black interior.l though my mind may change when I get to that point.
Captain Spaulding Posted December 15, 2020 Author Posted December 15, 2020 Got some work done on the Dart finally, the 426 and frame are all painted up. Going with Chrysler intense blue pearlcoat for the body, think it will look pretty good. Hoping to paint it in a day or two.
TransAmMike Posted December 15, 2020 Posted December 15, 2020 I loved the Plastikote "car color" paint. got a beautifil black metallic finish on a Corvette model a while back. Sadly, they don't sell this paint anymore.

I found a flea market with a big amount of them and many assorted colors for only $3.99 a can so can't beat the price.
TransAmMike Posted December 16, 2020 Posted December 16, 2020 Wow Jason, don't blame ya for that Plastikote haul.
Captain Spaulding Posted December 16, 2020 Author Posted December 16, 2020 Got the body primed last night and painted this afternoon. Color looks really good, see how it looks after drying.
Gary Davis Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 Man Jason...that blue really looks good on the Dart!

Captain Spaulding Posted December 19, 2020 Author Posted December 19, 2020 Got the interior painted and finished, decided on a dark tan color instead of black like I originally planned. Everything so far is coming together well.

Captain Spaulding Posted December 22, 2020 Author Posted December 22, 2020 Got the body and chassis all together now, just minor things now until it's all together.
Gary Davis Posted December 22, 2020 Posted December 22, 2020 WOW...that's really looking good. That blue sure looks darker than it did in the first shot. I really like it.
doorsovdoon Posted December 22, 2020 Posted December 22, 2020 That's looking good, especially the interior. The blue is a lovely shade, I like that.
