Chuck Most Posted December 20, 2020 Posted December 20, 2020 2020 was Year Of The Crew Cab for me. This was a Modelhaus kit I got earlier in the year. It represents a worn out old rig, repowered with a late model engine, a 5.7 Hemi from a 300C in this case. I kept it box stock aside from the engine, 8 bolt wheels (from Scenes Unlimited), and the steering wheel from a '78 LRT, as the original wheel was damaged and my attempt to repair it was less than successful. Only bad part is, with Modelhaus gone, I can't go out and order two more. 1
Captain Spaulding Posted December 20, 2020 Posted December 20, 2020 Great looking Dodge, love the weathering.
bbowser Posted December 20, 2020 Posted December 20, 2020 Your weathering is spot on, really nice work.
tuffone20 Posted December 20, 2020 Posted December 20, 2020 Wow what a great build Chuck! Love what you did with it and the weathering looks awesome!
Tom Geiger Posted December 20, 2020 Posted December 20, 2020 (edited) Another great build Chuck! You make it look easy! I never did get the Modelhaus Dodges but I have the one Charlie Rowley mastered. An FYI on the crew cabs. They were created so Dodge could bid on government contracts. I remember these running around the US airbase at Cigli in Turkey back in the day. And every one I’ve known as an adult in the car hobby started life as a fleet vehicle. mikemodeler Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 That looks great, but I swear I've seen that somewhere before....if I could only remember where!
Beau Arthur Posted December 22, 2020 Posted December 22, 2020 Killer Combo, Crew Cab Hemi! Super Sweet Finish
doorsovdoon Posted December 22, 2020 Posted December 22, 2020 Seriously nice! Lovely colour and just enough weathering, I like it.
AmericanMuscleFan Posted December 25, 2020 Posted December 25, 2020 Superb build sir! Probably called by many as ugly trucks, this is simply my favorite! There is no denying it, the tastes are not to be discussed and with this HEMI it is simply wonderful! I know, I have a little something for these workhorses... The weathering work is very convincing by the way! ?
Kris Morgan Posted December 31, 2020 Posted December 31, 2020 I like it. Looks like something you would see roaming out west in the dessert,
iamsuperdan Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 Looks great! Reminds me of the truck in Christmas Vacation. Which is actually the same truck used in They Live. And is actually the same truck used in Overboard! Not just similar, but the exact same truck in three moves. Anyway, that's the first thing I thought when I say your build. I like it!
Sportabout Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 Looks really good! I love your engine choice. I built a similar one years ago but with a slant 6 engine. Too bad these are no longer available. I remember '64 D200 from the movie Fire in the Sky https://www.imcdb.org/v211527.html
