Josephine- The Girl Next Door

This is my next stalled project that I have been working on lately to try and get it finished. I started this build years ago to build a model of my cousin's 1:1 50 Ford Sedan. His was an unfinished project. I took measurements of his car. To pull it off I stretched the roof of a 49 Coupe and mounted it on a 50 Convertible. His plan for his 1:1 was to paint it Viper red. That idea didn't thrill me. Not long after completing the roof alteration on the model my cousin passed away and I put the project aside. About a year later I dug it back out and began personalizing it to how I would have built his 1:1. My idea is an attractive mild custom without being outrageous. Hence the "Girl Next Door". An understated beauty.

Paint is HOK Goldmine Pearl with HOK Cocoa Pearl over that. Minor custom touches like removing the bullet from the grill, frenching the headlights and taillights, Connie kit and a few other mods. The mod I like the most is I customized the dash by using the grill bullet as a gauge pod for the dash.

Plans are to use the engine from the 50 Ford pickup kit with a few custom touches and Pegasus spinner wheels and wide whites.

I like your thinking. The body looks great, did you need two roofs?

Thanks. No, I only used one coupe roof and a strip of styrene close to 1/2 inch wide.

The centre bullet for the dash is a great idea, looks like it should have always been that way

Thank you. The idea is that the 4 slots around the center bullet would be digital ancillary gauges. It does look natural to me.

I like the smoother front end, and that dash works really well. Colour looks great too.

Thanks. The grill reminds me of a Chevy grill now.

Do you have fotos of the roof rebuild. I would like to try it.

I have them in external storage. I did the roof alterations back in 2017(?). I'll see if I can find some and post them.

Thanks guys! Started the BMF a bit ago.

Got it up on the wheels and engine and exhaust installed. My bumpers and grill were airbrushed with Molotow last week and I've been resisting touching them until this point. Just need to get them installed, a mirror on and the Connie kit installed. Getting close.
