Here are a few reference images of '62-'65 Chevy IIs found online, for use when building the AMT '63 Chevy II Nova 400 wagon and others. The intent is not to post images of every '62-'65 Chevy II you like, just images which can be used for reference when building a 1/25 scale version, especially things shared between the coupe, sedan, convertible, and wagon.

Interesting. I never knew the oil pans and the inspection cover were black. Literally every one I've seen is orange.

I'll have to do a little more digging to find out what's right.

How about an Acadian to go along with that?  :)

Yes, please. Anything with a Pontiac-ish split grille is certainly welcome, even if it's from north of the (U.S.) border. ?

I think someone once offered an Acadian Canso conversion for the AMT '66 Nova kit, but I am guessing it's long OOP by now. Not sure how I feel about that fender mounted trim, but the grille is definitely an improvement of the Chevy version.

Wait, the wagons were labeled Acadian Invader?!!! ?

A few shots I used for reference on my '65 project. Low-mile original '65 SS 283/Powerglide:

81786145_65novachassis1.jpg.73bd66c38c062d81711ff7bc75aaf05b.jpg

This one was 283/stick, manual steering:

283 with A/C, power steering and brakes...

...and without A/C, manual steering and brakes; note different position of radiator hose:

One thing I wish AMT had improved: The instruments are recessed into the dash cluster on the real car:

AMT made them flush all three years (no '64):

It took a bit of work to fix; I made a mold of the dash and copied and painted the gauges, then made the silver overlay and a clear lens, then carved out the original gauges from the dash and inserted the new cluster from behind.

Not perfect, but better, anyway. The dash decal in the new kit should make it easier to fix.

Looks like my college girlfriend's car circa 1976. I'd have lusted after it had it not been a 4-door. She later traded it in on a '74 4-door, which also failed to spin my windmill.

... back story may peg your bs-ometer  ^_^

Who will be the first among us to build one of these, or a sedan delivery, or even go Full Nomad with the new '63 wagon kit? I'm thinking of giving it a try on a spare Boss Nova body.....

I may already have a jump start on that Snake.   ?

I have a Jimmy Flintstone SD body somewhere in the Snakepit, but IIRC, last time I looked at it, one side was warped outward noticeably. I might see if I can straighten it out with steam or something. I didn't pay much for it, maybe $10, so won't be out much if I ruin it. IF I can get it in shape, I'll prolly paint it to match a regular wagon I build, so I can use one hood, grille, bumpers, glass, etc for both and just switch bodies as the mood strikes me.

The grille from the new kit won't fit the sd body, it is a '62 which has a taller grille. The '62 grille went flush with the hood, '63 - '65 had a hood lip molding which extended down into grille area and it turn had a shorter grille.

You can use the '63 hood and grille, but that would look weird on a '62.

That slanted C-pillar mucks everything up visually. The sedan delivery conversions look more proportionate and unified, though, as seen on the resin body.

The stock body already has very pleasing proportions, so I see no need to break out the razor saw. ☺️

Found this '64 Acadian Invader on B-A-T: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1964-pontiac-acadian-invader/
