I remember a classmates parents getting a new bright red Buick convertible with red interior. The car was the same year model as the silver hardtop above. They had the Continental Kit  like this one but I recall the rear fenders were also extended so that the top plate of the continental kit was covered on the sides a little more. With these appendages hanging off the back they could offer 50% - 50% weight distribution for better handling in corners, no ?
