landman Posted August 7, 2021 Author Posted August 7, 2021 Every little bit counts, and when I say little....Lug nuts & coil.
landman Posted August 7, 2021 Author Posted August 7, 2021 Painted the frame, rad and wheels. The subject's wheels are chrome. These wouldn't be suitable for that as they are way too rough. And since I had assembled them to set the chassis height it will likely mean I'll spray the whitewalls and brush the rest then detail the lugnuts and the rings with a chrome pen.
AmericanMuscleFan Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 Well, I'll have to visit this section more often... I'm coming on board 6 months late and on top of that I notice that you've moved away from me... I see that your sense of humor and your talent have followed you to your new home my friend! It's always a little unsettling to start over in a new environment, but I think you've got it under control and you're doing pretty well on the machining side by the way... ?
Zippi Posted August 12, 2021 Posted August 12, 2021 This is really coming along since the last time I checked in.

Nice detail work with the old 5 - 10 lug system! Narrow tires look very period era. Edited August 13, 2021 by leafsprings

Well, I hate to differ, but I am actually 6 hours closer.☺️
landman Posted August 13, 2021 Author Posted August 13, 2021 Finished the end panel of the deck. One slot is lopsided. That is where I'll hook the cable to disguise (hide) the unevenness. Also started making templates for the firewall and floor.
landman Posted August 14, 2021 Author Posted August 14, 2021 Made a floor holderupper. Found a resin firewall which is too narrow. Used the template to add to its contour. Cut the Jeep rear seat in half and made some new ends.
landman Posted August 18, 2021 Author Posted August 18, 2021 The firewall is in place. The floor template fits snugly under it. It will be redrawn to fill the gaps.

landman Posted August 23, 2021 Author Posted August 23, 2021 Some work on the interior. I can't find a dash so I'll likely have to make one. A disposable razor handle and an appropriately shaped piece a sprue will become the drive chain housing and the bearing housing.

I used a 41 Chevy pickup dash on mine. I cut it in the middle & added a small piece to widen it. Just a thought...

landman Posted August 24, 2021 Author Posted August 24, 2021 When I cut the hood I ended up with ugly gaps at the fender level. Trying to fill those in. Also added the ends to the winch.
