So in memory of the very first model that I built all the way back in 1979, I found a mostly complete blazer snap kit. It’s in pretty good condition, the only missing parts are the taillight lenses. I also from the same person bought a new in box 1979 step side pickup the MPC Mule Skinner. I’ll be using the drive train to turn the snapper detail up a notch or two, this should be a fairly straight forward build as it will be a curb side ( the hood does not open) I’ll be starting another thread on the step side pickup build.

Those look like nice projects Bil. I like the Blazers. I have the older amt Crew Chief kit that I hope to get back to someday.

Well so far this one is taking a bit of time, wheel and tire choices are a bit light ( mostly due to my affliction for hot rods haha)

I picked up a foose F100 kit to steal the frame and drivetrain for my step side project, so I stuck the completed frame under the blazer for a quick mock-up.  wheel and tire sizes work for the look that I’m going for, so with that I’m off to my lhs to see what they have in tuner wheels and tires.

and I think the last two pictures will look better for a colour choice than black!

Well I’m back in action, the move is complete and the hobby area is set up(ish)

Took advantage of the Michael’s 30% coupon and snagged the revell Escalade for 25.00, did some measuring and decided to stuff this in the blazer( I have a second one now as well) hence the yellow body lol)

and here we go, marked the areas for deletion and started trimming, got the front section fitting pretty nicely and now working on the rear.

im going to attempt to use the Escalade interior as well.

Working on the rear section of the chassis pan today, once I get the trimming right I’ll be able to mate the front snd rear sections together, then move to the interior.

thanks for watching and as always “all” comments are welcome.

Well all the cuts required to fit the chassis pan are done. Nothing is glued at this point with the exception of the seat halves.
I may for simplicity’s sake just use the blazer interior tub with the seats from the esky, Would you go with 4 buckets or keep it traditional and go buckets and bench?

Seems more practical to use the bench, plus it's a nice bench.

I think the quad buckets gives it an upscale look, but I’ll try to make the bench work.

and in other news Bam

Well after many nips n cuts and filing, I’m calling this a success story.

more work is needed of course, I need to decide on interior colours that will accent the two tone paint that I will be going with (see above).

The chassis still needs a couple of tweaks, have to add some length to the rear rails and fix the mess I made of the spare tire.
but overall I’m darn stoked on this project.
