crispy Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Most of these are re-issues, however I am sure after the iHobby Expo their will be some new surprises. Anyway here is what I have found so far: 1/24 BB, '32 Ford Street Rod 1/24 BB, Sting Ray III 1/24 BB, '57 Corvette Convertible 1/24 BB, Ply Duster "Cop Out" 1/24 BB, '82 Corvette Col's Ed 1/24 BB, '56 Chevy Bel Air 1/24 BB, '57 Chevy Nomad 1/24 BB, '87 Thunderbird Turbo 1/25 BB, '55 Ford Pickup St Rod 1/25 BB, Ford Mustang Mach III The BB designation means it is a basic build kit. Some of you may have seen these at the local Wal-Mart and it appears they are releaseing them to the hobby side now. Retail is $12.99 and could possibly be cheaper. Tentative street date is 11/1. On to the rest: 1/25 Easy Corvette Z06 11/1 1/24 Ford T Roadster 11/1 1/24 '93 Ford SVT Cobra 2N1 11/1 1/24 '70 Pontiac Firebird 2N1 11/30 1/25 Donks Custom Cadillac 11/30 1/25 Donks '94 Impala SS 2N1 11/30 1/25 '57 Chevy Pro Sportsman 11/30 1/12 RM Kustom "Gambler" Chop 11/30 1/12 RM Kustom "Fireball" Chop 11/30 I haven't seen anything on AMT yet. MonoPed Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Be nice if the '87 Thunderbird has a clear tail light instead of transparent red... Wonder what they did to make the '93 Cobra a 2n1?
Zoom Zoom Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Be nice if the '87 Thunderbird has a clear tail light instead of transparent red... Wonder what they did to make the '93 Cobra a 2n1? Probably the same thing they've done w/many musclecar kits, and include a second set of big/little pro-touring wheels. Hmmmm, do a '70 Firebird as a Firebird (non-T/A or Formula; flat hood, no spoilers/slats) w/modern rims....hmmmm... 8) Pretty ho-hum list for the most part; hope there is more announced at the hobby show.
Rob Hall Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Hmmm... there are a couple on there of interest to me.. I can use another '93 Mustang Cobra for parts, I've never had the Mach III kit, that could be interesting to customize, never had the '82 Corvette 'Collectors Edition' either.
mikemodeler Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Let's hope they are waiting until the Hobby Show to announce any new tooling kits they have up their sleeves! While I must say that there isn't anything on that list that screams "BUY ME!" for me, I am sure there are a bunch that others here are anxious for. It will be interesting to see/hear what is announced at the show this year. Hopefully the manufacturers will surprise us and of course we can always wait for the Model King! Mike Scheve
Schumacher330 Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 Won't happen but I'd love to see the proper front and back bumpers to make an LX 5.0. Of course you'd have to cut off the side sills but oh well. For that matter include the parts for a GT instead. Eh, I'm sure a Fox body would look fine on 24 inch rims
Just Dave Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 I can see it now, all the model car mfr's will be donkifying everything they've got good molds for and re-releasing them
MonoPed Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 I can see it now, all the model car mfr's will be donkifying everything they've got good molds for and re-releasing them As long as they keep the stock parts in em, bring em on!
Don Banes Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 Trust me on this! There'll be a bit more to talk about in a few weeks.

Jeff Johnston Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 Hmmmm, do a '70 Firebird as a Firebird (non-T/A or Formula; flat hood, no spoilers/slats) I'll be building the Formula using the Reliable Resin formula hood...might bave to build 2 LOL
Rob Hall Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 I'll be building the Formula using the Reliable Resin formula hood...might bave to build 2 LOL The RR part is 1:25th for the MPC Firebirds, though..probably wouldn't fit the Monogram 1:24th.
KT EASTMAN Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 The RR part is 1:25th for the MPC Firebirds, though..probably wouldn't fit the Monogram 1:24th. Hopefully someone out there will be inspired with the re-release to actually tool up and produce a Formula hood for it in 1/24??? I guess we will see!!!
