Family photo from 1962.  My mother's family cats in northern Illinois.  I get a kick out of their positioning.

I grew up with Tigger, but this picture taken in 1964 is from before my time.

I wonder what he may have been watching.  ?  He lived to the age of 21.

We welcomed two new members to the family last week. After our dear, beloved cat of 16 years passed away last year, it left a void in our house that we felt we just couldn't really overcome. Then, last week, a friend of mine reached out to us and asked if we would be interested in fostering two kittens. We gladly said yes and very quickly fell in love with them. And they are very much a handful!

Charlie on the bottom and sister Charlotte on top who looks almost exactly like my beloved cat Whiskers who passed away almost a year ago.

The funny thing about this photo is that Marmalade is laying on the blanket. Lilac (the pug) loves pulling the blanket down and sleeping on it.

These two are always at each other but it seems most of the time Marmalade instigates things...

Continuing the drama between Marmalade and Lilac last night. My wife brought the blanket down for Lilac and so Marmalade pushed her mostly off of it. Then he snuggled in next to her as she  ignored him.

Thankfully this is the primary source of drama in my household. The rest of the drama we experience is mostly the dumpster fires caused by family elsewhere.

Was this a bribe so he'll let the pug have the blanket once in a while?

Last night about 8:30pm Bandit bolted straight for the patio door and started pawing at it. I figured it was one of the neighbor cats, but not quite...

This standoff went on for about 5 minutes until the "trash panda" wandered off (absolutely NOT due to being scared away by 17 pounds of ginger fury or me taking pictures and laughing). The mighty defender of home and hearth was rewarded with Temptations and belly rubs.
