Still unable to get any airbrushing done, and I've caught up with my writing, so I thought I'd make a start on this one, i bought one kit, which sadly arrived with a broken and distorted bodyshell, I'm trying to see if Round 2 can help me out with a replacement,as they've not long re-released this kit under the AMT banner, I've tried the bonnet on the body from the other kit I've got, the photos show the difference, I've decided that I'll be painting this one in Honduras red metallic.

Cool. I have this kit and will be watching! The broken A pillar should be an easy fix...depends how bad the distortion is on the rest of it? Good luck.

Managed to get a little bit of work done on this one, interior is just dry fitted, engine glued together, I'll clean up the join lines on the engine/gearbox tomorrow

Nice. This is a beautiful kit, and seeing your usual high standards applied to this it's going to look amazing! Can't wait to see the end result:)

Good news on the replacement bodyshell for the Lindberg 61 Impala, Round 2 are sending me one, $25 including shipping to the UK.

Rear axle and front suspension dry fitted into place, the front springs were glued onto to the suspension frame, as they had a tenancy to fall out when dry fitted.

That’s good news for that damaged body. That one was done by Lindberg probably..

Amt re-released it, not sure what year, but I don't think it was too long ago

Haven't had a lot of time in the last few days to spend much time in the hobby room, but today I got the wheel covers and front grille, Tamiya Black panel line accent made short work of those, rear lamp housings were done using Tamiya clear red and a very fine brush.

Now a question about the wheel covers, there's a lip around the edge, which I take it is the actual wheel rim, but looking at different photos of Honduras red, some have the edge painted black, while others have them in body colour,  which is correct for a factory finish  ??

You are correct on the wheel paint finish. Usually what Chevrolet did was to paint the wheels the same color as the main part of the body color. As you moved up to the Impala model with the full wheel covers the wheels become black in color. There were exceptions to every rule back then so this is a generality about the wheel colors. In looking at the mock up of your front suspension I'm wondering if the front and rear springs are switched. In the picture with the front suspension clamped in place the lower control arms don't reach the point on the frame where they would be attached .
