70.5 Camaro Promod

Marcos, I know exactly what you are talking about regarding mistakes, my 1/12 Camaro has had several corrected (brass construction is easier to change/ adjust than plastic in a lot of cases)  That being said there are things I know about that unless actually measured would not be detectable and have no real bearing on the model as a whole so they remain. I finally learned that there is no such thing as the perfect car (full size or model). I have seen people literally spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on world class show cars to get to the perfect car and fall short. The best you can hope for is each successive model is better than the last and that you have fun doing it. Your work is fantastic, don't sweat the small stuff my friend.

Thanks for the amazing words Ian, much appreciated my friend, and trust me, i always try to do thing better on every model, just like you said, there's no perfect chassis but i try to do things better on every project that i have in hands, i remember my first tube chassis, maaaaan, i laugh about that now and i was so proud of that job LOL, but i like to see the progress and makes me to do more, i really do enjoy scratch building and love to see what other people do, i can't wait to start working on a brass tube chassis like you guys do, definitely is another level in my opinion

My thoughts exactly, scratch building the chassis is going to be insightful.

Thanks Ken, glad you like my project my friend

Hello guys, here’s is a little update on the Camaro, I’ve been working in many things for this project and one of the things is done is the brakes distributor block for the calipers, I think they came out nice and compared with the ones I’ve done before this ones are my best so far, scratch made and detailed, also work on wire looms for the distributor and they came out fantastic in my opinion, very proud how they turn out, hope you guys like it

No truer words have been spoken, regarding this artform. It took me forever (until the last few years, truly) to get to the place where I could accept some of my mistakes, and move on, rather than toss a project back in a box, and move it to the back of the pile--that's why the NFD is almost 26 years old!? Now that it's back on the bench, I am having a helluva good time, with it, and it feels like my best work.

This is coming along very nicely, Marcos! The mag looks great!

Thanks man, i can say the same thing my friend, tucked me years to get to the point i'm right now, one project that i put in the box was my jungle jim vega, every time that i learn something i jump in and do it and back to the box again, until i find my MOJO back and complete that project no long ago, and like you, one of my best projects so far

Hello guys, hope everyone is doing well, I’ve been doing some small details for this project and I’m very happy with the results.

first worked on the distributor plugs and they turned out really nice.

work on the tires tubs for the second time and I believe this time around they look better.

Decided to scratch build 3 way fuel distributor block and the fuel valve for the blower hat.

Added a fuel cell from tuturattractions and a 3d printed fuel filter, they look really good.

Finally wanted to scratch build my wheelie bars and did the lower part, also wanted to see how everything looks together and mounted the fron tires and wheel just to see and love it.

hope you guys like it, any questions feel free to ask

you're doing a great job on your volvo, i wish to knew back then what i know now LOL, my first tube chassis was good but i was scared all the time to do something wrong but i did enjoy ever single thing that i did to it and haven't stop it sense, you only need to make some drawing of what you want to do and have some pictures reference of what you want to replicate, Tim Mcamis have a complete 1:1 build that i did follow the first time and keep learning from it

already have pictures and plans for the 2 projects after this one.. but if I've understood correctly, is 1.6mm tube the right size to build with? now I have built with 2mm

Great stuff Marcos, everything look very good so far!  Another beast in the making!

Thank you Francis, yes, this beast looks more aggressive in my opinion, i love it, going to try you technique for the tubs, hope to do a good job with that, the 2 attempts that i have done they came out really bad in my opinion

I'm done with the wheelie bars, they look great, this details make this car look a lot meaner, i did use futurattraction wheelie bars setup, and the fabricated 9" from the same place makes the perfect duo in my opinion, still need to connect my brake lines and add some details all around thos section before passing to the interior work

Gorgeous work! Those wheelie bars are outstanding!

Thank you Terry, i was super excited to do this part of the project

Very nice details Marcos, wheelie bars are always a nice addition to any drag racing car and you nailed it perfectly! ?

Thank Francis, i was so nervous when i was making them, didn't want them off center from the car, and i believe wheelie bars are one of those little details that make drag cars more interesting
