NOBLNG Posted February 24, 2021 Posted February 24, 2021 (edited) Which one of these is a better kit to build? I eventually want to build one and the other is going to go for parts. Thanks, Greg Edited February 24, 2021 by NOBLNG
John Pol Posted February 24, 2021 Posted February 24, 2021 The top is a better kit the buttom one the body is not right
NOBLNG Posted February 24, 2021 Author Posted February 24, 2021 I was just typing in a further query as to whether the bodies came from the same mold or not when you replied. Thanks!
mike 51 Posted February 24, 2021 Posted February 24, 2021 i believe it's the same kit Z28 has small block and stock wheels the other is a big block with custom wheels . other minor differences.

mike 51 Posted February 24, 2021 Posted February 24, 2021 i think he's confusing the Revell kit with the AMT gotta read those boxes more carefully?

Ok, so I cracked open both boxes...and most of it is identical. Casting numbers are the same on the trees for the body, interior, hood, tires etc. The only differences are the chrome tree and the engine tree. Thanks Guys.
Oldcarfan27 Posted February 24, 2021 Posted February 24, 2021 At first glance, I thought the same thing that John Pol thought. Both brands look very similar, I get them mixed up a lot! Same problem with the Smokey and the Bandit Trans Ams.

Avoid all AMT '69 Camaro kits, period. Both kits are very similar, Greg, based on the same design work. The RS/SS has a Small Block Chevy V8, the Yenko version a Big Block Chevy V8. Wheels, grilles, and tail/brake/backup lights are different, but mostly everything else is the same. Both build well without major issues.
