peteski Posted April 13, 2021 Posted April 13, 2021 As I was scrolling through the photos in the first post I thought the photos were of the 1:1 car - not the model. It is amazing how a clean build and realistic background can fool the eyes. Only when I came to the photo of the rear end I realized that it was a model! The defroster lines molded in the rear window made me realize it was a model.
lordairgtar Posted April 13, 2021 Posted April 13, 2021 I see in the advert that the car has perspex covers over the headlamps.
Tommy124 Posted April 13, 2021 Author Posted April 13, 2021 Many thanks for your feedback! 3 hours ago, lordairgtar said: I see in the advert that the car has perspex covers over the headlamps. Well-observed, and you may see aswell in the ad that there is a different type of mirrors on the car. I read that these mirrors have been replaced by the type used on my model because of guidelines regarding the protection of pedestrians and bikers. As regards the covers over the headlights, it seems like they have been part of "plan" but to my knowledge have never been used on the production cars.
YBlock292 Posted April 13, 2021 Posted April 13, 2021 Great build, as always from Your workbench! Regards Ludwig
lordairgtar Posted April 13, 2021 Posted April 13, 2021 This Japanese example has the perspex cover, plus side marker lights are of a different style. https://video.search.yahoo.com/yhs/search?fr=yhs-trp-001&ei=UTF-8&hsimp=yhs-001&hspart=trp&p=z28e&type=Y195_F163_198833_033121#id=1&vid=02b5d25b0f72d9717756b4cdebd2cd6c&action=click
CapSat 6 Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Very nice work. I really enjoyed learning about this car and model as well!

And it's also probably the fact you'll likely need to fold your mirrors after you park in rest of the world! Great build and result especially with the kit that doesn't have much details.
