Tiger89 Posted April 9, 2021 Posted April 9, 2021 Very simple old kit with a one-piece chassis, four pieces to the interior counting the shifter. I used the 2004 AMT/Ertl re-release, some leftover parts and Keith Marks decals to finish it. I've heard a rumor that Round 2 may re-issue this kit later this year.
Spottedlaurel Posted April 9, 2021 Posted April 9, 2021 May be a simple kit but you've done a very nice job with it.
David G. Posted April 9, 2021 Posted April 9, 2021 Good color choice, the decals really add to the appearance. Nicely done. David G.
Tiger89 Posted April 9, 2021 Author Posted April 9, 2021 I applied the stripes along the doors and rear quarters too low, but they're there.
Bainford Posted April 9, 2021 Posted April 9, 2021 Nice looking Galaxie. I love the 69s with the hidden headlights, and nothing cooler than a Galaxie with a 4-speed.
doorsovdoon Posted April 9, 2021 Posted April 9, 2021 Stunning, very nice job. I like how you carefully painted the underside to look like a separate chassis. Nice detail too.
Tiger89 Posted April 9, 2021 Author Posted April 9, 2021 A little detail painting will help the chassis. The AMT '65 Ford has a better one, but I don't think it's worth the effort getting it to work with the '69 body.
Sledsel Posted April 12, 2021 Posted April 12, 2021 Good job on it. I hope you are right about it being released again, I need a few more in my stash.
BeakDoc Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 I’ve always liked the look of the ‘69 Galaxie and you did a whiz-bang job on this one. Beautiful model. The extra effort paid off.
Sledsel Posted April 29, 2021 Posted April 29, 2021 Hey, where you get the AC unit? I could use a few of those.
Scott8950 Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 Nice job on a very cool car.. Hopefully the rumor is true it's one that would definitely be a seller.
Tiger89 Posted April 30, 2021 Author Posted April 30, 2021 Andy, the A/C compressor and hoses are from the AMT '62 Thunderbird. At a show/swap meet in January, a vendor was selling two of those kits in one box for $15, likewise Revell's '70 Boss 429 Mustang, so I grabbed both deals.
