Jonathan Posted May 14, 2021 Posted May 14, 2021 About a hundred years ago, Academy announced they were going to release a Shelby Daytona Coupe in 1/24 scale. Man, oh man, was I looking forward to that. But, alas, nothing ever came of it - correct? Scalemates says "unknown". https://www.scalemates.com/kits/academy-15507-shelby-cobra-daytona-coupe--100205 Any ideas?
niteowl7710 Posted May 15, 2021 Posted May 15, 2021 I haven't heard anything about that kit either in almost a decade, I imagine it was a licensing debacle. As far as Scalemates the "Unknown" just means there's no history information provided by whomever entered the kit into the database. When editing the site, there are several choices under the drop down menu labeled "Origin" - Initial Release -New Tool, Rebox (Updated/Changed Parts), Rebox (New Decals), Rebox (Changed Boxart), Rebox (Unknown What Changed), Rebox (Model Set), and Unknown.
The Junkman Posted May 16, 2021 Posted May 16, 2021 I wish they had used the ploy that they used for their Ferrari California kit-"European Sports Car". Visualize "American 2 Door Race Car".
