Mopar - D Posted June 6, 2021 Author Posted June 6, 2021 Some more progress on the lower boxes and have the rear doors on now. Next will be to engineer the rear steps/ trailer hitch and build it. I don’t have any pictures so I’m going to do what I think they had. Quote
Captain Spaulding Posted June 6, 2021 Posted June 6, 2021 Everytime I check this thread out this thing just keeps looking better. Quote
Mopar - D Posted June 7, 2021 Author Posted June 7, 2021 Thanks Jason, and here’s some more progress. I finished my engineering and scratch built the stairs and hitch. I’m going to start on the cab next looking like I’m going to be able to do some spraying this week with our weather. I’m also working on how I’m going to build the trailer. The springs and axles are what I need to figure out how to do with what I have in my parts boxes. Quote
doorsovdoon Posted June 7, 2021 Posted June 7, 2021 Nice work on the box. Are the doors and frame from the AMT Semi Trailer? That was a "fun" kit, having no numbers on the sprues! Quote
Mopar - D Posted June 7, 2021 Author Posted June 7, 2021 Thanks Gareth, yes they are from the AMT (IMC) semi trailer I wish they were not as big Quote

I guess I did Carl. I’ve been moving back and forth from trucks to cars. 14 hours ago, gatorincebu said: Dan, Your work on the box looks great ! impressive project . I like what you are doing here . Be Well Gator Thanks Gator. I built the front bumper and put a PE muffler guard on the stack. Also working on the windows, I like to make a grove on the inside for the glass to get a good fit up. It’s a tip that I saw here a couple of years ago. Quote
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 Looks great! You’re really knocking this one out! Quote
Mopar - D Posted June 10, 2021 Author Posted June 10, 2021 Thanks Brian I have a lot of time for my model building for now so I’m making good use of it. Todays progress, I started scratch building the trailer and getting ready for some Petty blue paint. Quote
slusher Posted June 10, 2021 Posted June 10, 2021 What are you going to use fo Petty blue, Dan! Quote
Mopar - D Posted June 10, 2021 Author Posted June 10, 2021 Carl it’s MCW 2010 Super Blue. This is what they have listed for Richard Petty. It looks like it’s the right color in the bottle. Quote
Mopar - D Posted June 11, 2021 Author Posted June 11, 2021 I was able to finish building the trailer today and sprayed some Petty blue on the cab. I’m looking for some Petty logo’s that go on the doors. They have them in the Ford Petty race car hauler. Quote
Captain Spaulding Posted June 11, 2021 Posted June 11, 2021 That is really starting to look good, especially now that it has some Petty blue on it. Quote

Worked on my cab hinges also. Quote

I’ve also received my Detroit 6-71 and started building it. I’m looking for the decals that comes with the Richard Petty Dart. I need the Petty Enterprise logo for the doors. Quote

I also worked on some of the trim on the cab. I need to paint the air intake Petty blue so I’m getting the Charger ready for the Petty blue so I can spray both at the same time. Quote
