majel Posted June 22, 2021 Posted June 22, 2021 What if Jungle Jim had not died in 1977, would he have been crazy enough to try something different like monster trucks? I think he would!! He was a showman, and what better place for a showman in the late 80's and early 90's than match racing with Bigfoot? Anyway, this is a fictitious Jungle Jim rendition of a Chevy Silverado monster truck. I used the USA-1 Revell kit and some unused Jungle Jim funny car decals to make this mostly box stock truck. It's painted with Tamiya light metallic blue with a Tamiya brown and desert yellow interior. The tires and under carriage are slightly weathered. I used a Competition Resins Crower 8 port injector and scoop, and a parts box blower. It was just a fun, quick, "what if" build.
Zippi Posted June 22, 2021 Posted June 22, 2021 Fantastic looking Monster Truck. I bet Jungle Jim would have given Bigfoot a run for his money.
TarheelRick Posted June 22, 2021 Posted June 22, 2021 Cool concept and it even has a seat for Jungle Pam - hubba hubba.
espo Posted June 22, 2021 Posted June 22, 2021 Great idea and I agree he would do something like this had he lived. The finishes all look great. I've never built this kit before but after seeing this I will pick one up the next time I see one.
majel Posted June 22, 2021 Author Posted June 22, 2021 Here he is with his competition! The Bigfoot model was built about 20 years ago as part of a monthly build for a model group I was part of back in Arizona.
majel Posted June 24, 2021 Author Posted June 24, 2021 Thanks everyone, this was a model that basically fell together, not a lot of parts and everything fit well. I was really surprised how well the Jungle Jim decals fit on the body.
Steve H Posted July 27, 2021 Posted July 27, 2021 Hi Jim, fun idea and well executed. Both trucks look great… I was going to say “clean” builds, but Bigfoot ain’t so clean! Cheers, Steve
