I'm building this Lindberg kit for a friend that had a 1:1 back in the day. I am finding that most all the decals that came with the kit are breaking into pieces when transferring to the model. Does anyone know if anyone makes/sells "aftermarket" decals for this kit? I'm mainly looking for just the decals for the front and rear fenders, grill and rear valance. Any help is appreciated!

Round2 reissued that kit not too long ago. Try posting a request in the Wanted section. Someone probably has a fresher set with no plans of using them. You may also be able to buy a set from Round2. Worth a try.

There are spray paints available that are designed to seal and protect older decals with issues like you have described. If you can't find replacement  decals that my be something to try.

Thanks Plowboy, I’ll post something in the wanted section and also see if Round2 has a set.

Spray the remaining decals with Testor Ultra Gloss clear. It won't harm the decals and keeps them from crumbling.

So I can spray this stuff on the decals on the backing paper and it will keep them from crumbling when I transfer them to the model? That would be great!

Yes, spray it right over the image.
