leafsprings Posted July 5, 2021 Posted July 5, 2021 (edited) Have been working on this Frontier Resin piece, a early 60's GMC B model, while also building the Frontier Ford F 1000 at the same time. There were many variations of the B model according to power plants. DB7000's were diesels and B 7000's were V 12 gas. This will be a 478 V6 gas model in the 30K GVW range, which would make it a 6500 series. V6 is from Rookie Resin, with air compressor and pulley added. Wheels and tires are 12.00-22's from Dan Models. Needed the biggest tires to fill the large fenders! Edited July 7, 2021 by leafsprings 2
Mopar - D Posted July 5, 2021 Posted July 5, 2021 Very interesting build of this GMC. The V6 in there looks tiny. Nice progress so far I’ll be following this.

I agree, there's room for the factory optional 671 inline or 6v53 Detroits, but didn't have those engines. The frame widens in the front portion, which makes the engine look even more smaller.
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted July 5, 2021 Posted July 5, 2021 Oh wow! This is going to be good! I have somewhat of a similar project planned with the v6, but mine is going to be C series.

Yes, I plan on picking up a couple built as non turbo's for future builds, namely, another Frontier GMC B model and a Dan Models Ford N cab. Edited July 6, 2021 by leafsprings
leafsprings Posted July 9, 2021 Author Posted July 9, 2021 Interior done, painted " sunlit sand", a goldish silver color, very close to factory color. Steering wheel is from an Astro.
leafsprings Posted July 10, 2021 Author Posted July 10, 2021 (edited) Painted close to factory Light Blue. Tractor equipment, air tanks and dual exhaust added to chassis. Edited July 12, 2021 by leafsprings 1
Mopar - D Posted July 11, 2021 Posted July 11, 2021 Nice progress Tommy I like your color choice. Do you know what trailer your going to use with it.
leafsprings Posted July 16, 2021 Author Posted July 16, 2021 (edited) Eventually it will get the recently re issued 36 footer. Looks period correct for a 60's tractor. Will swap out the Daytons to Budds. More detailing work added to cab. Edited July 18, 2021 by leafsprings
leafsprings Posted July 18, 2021 Author Posted July 18, 2021 (edited) Thanks Brian. A few more pieces added. Edited July 19, 2021 by leafsprings

Mopar - D Posted July 25, 2021 Posted July 25, 2021 Nice updates Tommy. Your right that trailer will look good behind it.
Sam I Am Posted July 25, 2021 Posted July 25, 2021 You sure do build some cool subjects. My dad had a '62 Chevy pu in factory Robin eggs blue. Love that color.
leafsprings Posted August 6, 2021 Author Posted August 6, 2021 Thankyou guys! A few more details and it will completed!
