dougwintz Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 Hi. This is Tamiya's kit. Instead of building the racing version, I found a 1:1 example, slightly modified and tried to replicate it. 1
Zippi Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 Well that's something different Doug. Great color and nice work on the business end. Fantastic job.
bbowser Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 I love the look with the black wheels, very nice!
Dave B Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 Nice build Doug, looks like Mike Hawthorn's but his was a Mark 1. Dave B
David G. Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 Nailed it! Paint, fit and detailing all look great. David G.

espo Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 Great looking Jag. Nice looking paint work and clean looking trim.
doorsovdoon Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 Beautiful looking build, the bank robbers choice of transport back in 60's UK! I love the colour, looks like the car in an old TV show over here called "Inspector Morse"
gbtr6 Posted August 5, 2021 Posted August 5, 2021 Very nice. I hav3 this kit and may have to steal your ideas. How did you paint the hood medallion so nicely? How did you do the wood? Thanks, Perry

Both are included in the kit!

carbuilder1950 Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 I love these old Jag sedans. They can have so many different personalities, depending on how they are dressed out. The black wheels give a bit of a sinister look to me. Pretty cool ?.
Justin Porter Posted August 6, 2021 Posted August 6, 2021 Lovely build of one of Tamiya's nicest. Hopefully a kit they judge to be due for a reissue soon, too.
Oldcarfan27 Posted August 9, 2021 Posted August 9, 2021 Well done. Love the color choices. But why does the license plate tell me to "Buy 12"? Subliminal messaging from Tamiya.

Subliminal messaging from Tamiya. This is definitely no Tamiya marketing gag: Believe it or not, John Coombs Racing prepared Jaguars for the British Touring Car Championship in the early 60's which they dominated from 1960 to 1962 - drivers were Graham Hill, Roy Salvadori and others, and one of these cars had that very license plate BUY 12 (another team car had BUY 1)- see pictures: 1
