Steve H
Hi TJ, great stuff going on here. I must admit, I like the first set too, but the other spokes are a very close second. I have a Camaro in the que for this fall, mine will be low too, I will be watching.

Its your build, so roll with what you like.
Lowlife ! !
Â Not a criticism here, but if your building a lowrider you gotta use lowrider wheels !! The first set, or those tyres with crager 5 spokes maybe ? Enjoying the build, good luck with it !

Be sure to keep us up with your progress. So, I'll be going with the DZs in the wide white tires. It may seem more custom than lowrider, but since I like kustoms too, it's all good! I've made just a little progress worth showing, got the front subframe painted. Mainly I've been scribing panel lines and trying to define the window trim for foil later. Also, I'm toying with the idea of a folding rag top. Anyone done one that they could show? or at least tell me if this looks like a good idea? I may try to find a better fabric for the top.... this is just a piece of bed linen soaked in diluted Elmer's glue. Naturally I would weather it a bit for a more realistic look..... I think I've decided on green for the body. I'll be picking that up next week from the auto parts store...... That's what I have today..... Feel free to comment, and tell me what you think of the top idea......
JollySipper
Here's how things are looking with the folding top! I think it's gonna work out pretty well...... I'll do a little clean up here, then it's on to primer! Thanks, and comment freely....

I am hoping to get some green in a few days from O'Reillys..... I need to swing by there and pick up some clear any way. The interior will most likely be various shades of tan and brown...... Zippi
Coming along nicely. I like how you pinned the engine so the hoses can be located easier.

JollySipper
Got a little more progress on this....... The body and associated parts are in final primer. This is Rustoleum 2X gray primer, it will make a really good foundation for the DupliColor I plan on using.... Thanks for looking in, and please do comment! TransAmMike
The stance looks good to me TJ. I'm doing the same car right now and on the front I cut the nubs off the spindles and drilled a hole and glued a pin at the highest point I could and with the larger holes in the wheels I can actually adjust the higth up or down a fraction and I will glue them to the flat part of the spindle. I guess my explination makes sense. Mine will be more of a Day 2 built with Torque Thrusts and high rise hood. Modlbldr
I'm still liking the plan for this. The soft top idea looks like a good one. I'm interested to see how you work it out. Are you thinking of making tracks for it to slide in or just attach it on top? Later-
JollySipper
Thanks, Mike and Tom! The top is in a permanent "open" position since it's been soaked in diluted glue.... I had planned to just attach it to the roof, it should look the part just fine...... Â

JollySipper
I've been steady at it for a couple of days..... I've almost completed the interior. Still need to paint the front seats. The tan is vinyl dye from DupliColor, the carpet and "woodgrain" stuff is craft paint.... Also pretty much done with the chassis..... Still need the rear wheels attached. I wanted a color that would look kinda stock but not, I ended up with Deep Jewel Green Metallic. Hopefully I'll be able to get a better finish on the body than I did on the floor pan.... That's where we are today! Hopefully the nice weather we've been having here will last a while longer and I can get the body painted up in the next few days..... Thanks for looking, and comment freely....

JollySipper
Got the paint work done........ I thought I would need to put one more coat of clear on after yesterday's painting session, but looking at it this morning, all it needed was a wet sand and polish today. I've been trying to get pics all day of the color, but it's proving difficult to get the shade right..... Started on the foil some to see how it's gonna look. That's progress for today! Please feel free to comment..... Quote   Edited September 6, 2021 by JollySipper
