curt raitz Posted September 5, 2021 Posted September 5, 2021 On the way home from the last GSL in 2019, I challenged my buddy John Teresi to a radial engine motorcycle build-off. Not too bright on my part, I'm not even being close to being as good as John. But what the heck, it's only a model and it will make me kick my game up. We got our inspiration from a couple of bikes that exist in the real world. Our buddy Steve Allemand, 3D printed us both a couple of 1/12th scale 7 cylinder radial engines and a bunch of extra parts as well. So the journey began. You can find the builds on the WIP forum. Here are photos of the completed bikes. John's Bike: Curt's Bike: Here they are together on a base as presented at the IPMS Contest in Las Vegas. Their next appearance will be at the SoCal Model Show October 3rd and NNL West January 22, 2022. Thanx for lookin' 4
bbowser Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 Amazing work on them both! I can't imagine the torque on John's bike.
peteski Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 If it wasn't for the photos showing your hands, I would not have believed these are 1:12 models! Amazing!
stinkybritches Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 I honestly thought the model pics were multiple pics of the inspirations for the builds. Outstanding work by both of you.
4 Pulsars Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 you know its a great model when you think its the real thing
skymnky721 Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 Amazing bikes! Thinkin about what it would be like to ride these,,the vibration would be a challenge,,but oohhh the power of those radials!! Seatbelts optional...lol
Dragonhawk1066 Posted September 15, 2021 Posted September 15, 2021 Outstanding craftmanship and workmanship on both!! Just a couple of incredible builds!!
Brudda Posted September 16, 2021 Posted September 16, 2021 Saw these in Vegas. Beautiful just beautiful! Could not stop looking at them. Totally in a different league. Great job guys!!!
Modelbuilder Mark Posted October 9, 2021 Posted October 9, 2021 Both the bikes, AND the builders make a nice pair! I can assure you all that seeing these bikes in person, only makes them that more impressive. If you are at a show, and have a chance to speak these gentlemen, it will be time well spent, and you will likely hear a nice life story. Great guys with great skills.
Keavdog Posted October 19, 2021 Posted October 19, 2021 Absolutely amazing!! Some master level craftsmanship there. I'd buy both in kit form if the existed.... hint, hint
happy grumpy Posted October 21, 2021 Posted October 21, 2021 Now this is jaw dropping. the first pictures makes them look so real. I honestly thought they were bigger but the pictures with the hand shows true scale. This is truly amazing. this is museum quality. I will put my jaw in place now.
Ulbo Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Absolutely great job. Your craftmanship is unreal and the resulta are so real!!!?

Danno Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 Curt and John, Please bring these guys to DESERT SCALE CLASSIC 18 in April! We'd love to have them on the tables for the folks around these parts to enjoy. Of course, if you do . . . I'll have to buy the judges new sunglasses and a bigger bottle of Wild Turkey! Best Regards, my friends. -danno-
