Dutch Posted September 8, 2021 Posted September 8, 2021 (edited) I want to build a LAPD police cruiser from the TV show Adam-12. I have the AMT 1/25 Plymouth Roadrunner kit #30270, the Star Models 1968 Plymouth four door sedan conversion, LAPD style siren, beacons and radios from Three Inches Under, decals by J-Bot, and have found a 3D printed standard Belvedere/Satellite grill (i.e. NOT Roadrunner or GTX). What I lack is the standard steel wheel rims and dog dish hubcaps. I think they should look like either of these variations below, but maybe they are different? Can anyone help me here? Thanks, Dutch or this style? Edited September 10, 2021 by Dutch change year
espo Posted September 8, 2021 Posted September 8, 2021 Checkout Fireball Model Works in the Car Aftermarket Section on the forum. There is a pretty complete list of after market suppliers with links to their web sites listed thee. Fireball but one of the many listed, but I know his products are among the best and he offers a couple of different sets of wheels and tires design for what you are looking for.
1972coronet Posted September 8, 2021 Posted September 8, 2021 1968 hubcaps are markedly different from the 1969-1975 hubcaps ( the 2nd image you've posted ) . Fireball makes the 1969-1975 style , both Plymouth and Dodge are available . The only source that I'm aware of for the 1965-1968 Plymouth hubcaps are the ones in the old Jo-Han 1968 Fury Police Car -- even then , they're not all that accurate ( no raised centre "cone" like the 1:1 ) . You may be able to use the hubcaps from the Revell 1968 Dodge Charger R/T . They're Dodge-specific , but are closer to the Plymouth caps than those in the Jo-Han '68 Fury Sedan . The first image you've posted are the "generic" 1975-c.1982 Dodge and Plymouth hubcaps .
Dutch Posted September 8, 2021 Author Posted September 8, 2021 (edited) Thank you both. That is a huge help! BINGO! Edited September 8, 2021 by Dutch
Mark Posted September 8, 2021 Posted September 8, 2021 The car pictured is a '69...grille, and rectangular side markers give it away.
Rodent Posted September 8, 2021 Posted September 8, 2021 The 68 didn't get nearly as much screen time as the 69 which was used for two seasons. Wish someone would make a resin 69 Belvedere 4 door body.

Rodent Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 Thanks, but I am not enthused about converting a 68 body to a 69. I wish that a caster would do a proper 69 4-door.
SfanGoch Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 C'mon, Steve. It would be a lot easier than converting a 1911 Model T roadster into a 1974 Plymouth Satellite Sebring.
Mike999 Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 I have all the seasons of "Adam-12" on my obsolete WD-TV box. The show ran from 1968-75, prime car-watching times. Sometimes I freeze-frame just to gawk at all the great cars on the screen. Watched a couple of episodes from the first season today. That's when Reed was still new and Malloy was training him. In one scene, a drunk crashed his '68 Nova SS into a tree. Well, not really...
