jas1957 Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Because of contract problems with the Lucas County Rec Center the NNL Nationals and the Old Toyland Toledo Toy Show will be changing date and location starting with the October 2009 shows. The new date and location is October 3&4 for the toy show and October 3 for the NNL. location will be the Sylvania Exhibition Center at Tam-O-Shanter. 7060 Sylvania Ave. Sylvania, OH. 43560. This is about 10 miles northwest of the old location. Please mark your calendars for this earlier date, we would hate for anyone to show up a week late for these shows. We hope to see everyone there. Lyle Willits Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Can someone verify if this info is true or not? Info is true.It came out in an official statement 2 or 3 weeks before Christmas.
george 53 Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Thanks so much,Lyle. I had been watchin this thread just to see if it WAS true. Now I can make definite plans! Thanks Again!
Wildrice Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Thanks Lyle. I wanted to hear info from a trusted source.
jas1957 Posted January 23, 2009 Author Posted January 23, 2009 I would NEVER have thought anyone would doubt my post on the NNL & Toledo toy show was legitimate. I realize it was my first post, I joined just to get that important info out as early as possible. I also put the same message on the other magazine's forum. Further I sent emails to both magazine editor's hoping they mention it on their editorial page. As soon as we have our flyers done we will circulate them as widely as possible. I probably should have included a link to the Oldtoyland shows web site, but as I said I would not have in a million years thought anybody would question it. My real concern is what kind of people are using this forum that others would question the legitimacy of someone else's post ? As a guy that has been involved in organizing the Toledo NNL since about 1982 I'm not sure whether I am hurt or angry over the above comments. If you still don't believe me and show up at the Lucas County Rec. Center on OCT. 10--- we won't be there. John Strick, Cleveland Automotive Modelers Society
Tom Kren Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 HERE IS THE FLYER FOR THE TOYSHOW WITH A MAP!
Lyle Willits Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 John, I wouldn't take the questions personally at all. Had nothing to do with you. Rumors are rampant on these message boards regarding this hobby, in general. Next week we'll probably hear that Testors has bought General Motors and is going to continue to make all of their cars, but they will be 1/25th scale and each kit will cost $5000.
jas1957 Posted January 24, 2009 Author Posted January 24, 2009 Lyle, Thanks for the kind words. Sorry I probably went a bit over the top with my response, I was just taken aback having my honesty questioned. Tom, thanks for posting the new toy show flyer, my scanner does not work so I have to rely on others to do that kind of thing. We are working closely with Toy Show promoter John Carlisle to make the change as smooth as possible, we hope to see All of you there!! John Strick
Al Maciejewski Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 John-- I don't think it was you, as much as the fact that people may not have known who was posting the message. You didn't sign your name on the bottom, so they didn't know you. If they had seen "John Strick" on the bottom, and known your association with the Toledo NNL, I'm sure no one would have doubted your message. BTW, welcome to the forum, glad to have you here! See you at the Toledo show in March! Al Maciejewski

Wildrice Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 So sorry to have upset you on this post. If you spent as much time as I have on all the forums I have then you would know that there are lots of people who are on forums just to cause problems. Being it was your first post and I had no idea who you were I had to be a little leary.
jas1957 Posted January 25, 2009 Author Posted January 25, 2009 That's cool, I am not on the forums much and did not realize some are just here to cause grief. After thinking about it I can see how you could have doubts. This forum can be such a positive thing. So anyhow I am going to stop talking and go build something!
