NOBLNG Posted September 28, 2021 Posted September 28, 2021 (edited) Was a version of this truck ever kitted in 1/25 scale or maybe in resin? I’d like to attempt a version of this. https://www.rodauthority.com/features/car-features/1955-chevy-snub-nose-cameo-tug-boat-is-a-breath-of-fresh-air/ Edited September 28, 2021 by NOBLNG
plastic trucker Posted September 28, 2021 Posted September 28, 2021 RMR did the cab in the two door and four door versions. And I also think that they did the '58,'59 version also.

By a quick look you should be able to build that truck you pictured most likely.

They don’t seem to be in the resin business anymore, as every item is out of stock on their website. So unless I can find one on eBay…. 1 hour ago, Ctmodeler said: I know there are kits of a 55 and a 57 cameo. By a quick look you should be able to build that truck you pictured most likely. Thanks, I have two ‘55 Cameo kits which made me entertain this idea in the first place. I think cutting and splicing that cab may be a little too ambitious of a project for me though.

Here's a link with images of the RMR Crew Cab version: https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/55-57-chevy-coe-resin-cab-rmr-1799038775 Probably as close as you'll get: The 1/48 Revell Chevy Stakebed kit is the only COE in plastic from the major companies, AFAIK.

That is the picture I saw. Do you know if that Worthpoint site actually sells things or has links to a seller? Has anyone here dealt with them?

They do not sell themselves AFAIK. They are useful for the images, though.

DRIPTROIT 71 Posted September 29, 2021 Posted September 29, 2021 If I am not mistaken a regular cab version pops up on Ebay pretty regular.
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted September 29, 2021 Posted September 29, 2021 This is the one that I was thinking of. It may not work for what you want.

That is a possibility, but he wants $47. shipping.? I’ll have to see if there’s anything else I want in order to combine shipping. It looks like they do all sales on eBay, not through their website. Zippi Posted September 30, 2021 Posted September 30, 2021 That would be a kewl converson. I'll be watching to see what you come up with.
paul alflen Posted September 30, 2021 Posted September 30, 2021 NOBLING, i believe that cab is done as a Diecast 1/25, or 1/24 stake truck. I have a Campbell's soup version that Ertl did, when they were doing diecast collectables in the 1990's.Try to see if you can find a damaged one w/ a good cab, then you can use that for the truck build or cast the cab in resin. You have worked with mixed medium before (stryrene, resin, & metal) with great results! (Willy's jeep) .Good luck in your search!
paul alflen Posted September 30, 2021 Posted September 30, 2021 NOBLING, I just searched the Campbell's truck on Google images . Cab is not a stubnose like the one you want. Sorry for the mis-information!

Thank You for the tip Brian. I’ve kind of given up and moved on. I tend to be a bit obsessive-compulsive.? That’s close to 150 Loonies by the time it gets here.?
1930fordpickup Posted December 15, 2021 Posted December 15, 2021 I sure wish there was a cheaper way to ship to our brothers to the north.
