1959scudetto Posted October 1, 2021 Posted October 1, 2021 (edited) This is the original release from 1983, built in 1984 straight out of the box - nothing added (This is my only 1/24 truck, all others are 1/25 scale). Though the box says "Freightliner by Mercedes Benz", my decal sheet had only stripes and license plates, but NO Freightliner logos - so I had to take a silver pen for the front and hood sides and a black ink pen for the mudflaps! The door decal is from ERTL. And here, hooked to one of my trailers: Edited October 1, 2021 by 1959scudetto

Thanks Doug - the pictures are from 2005 (when I got my first digicam) - so truck and trailer were 21 years old back then.
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted October 8, 2021 Posted October 8, 2021 I really like this one!! I like the paint scheme!! You did all of the Freightliner logos free hand? Wow!! Looks great! Excellent work!

Thank you Brian - yes, they are made free-hand, which worked quite well for the logos on the hood but not so for the mudflaps. I still don't know why the logos were not printed on the decals sheet (license issues seem impossible, as the name of the truck was prominently printed on all sides of the box). The 3-color stripes are from the original decal sheet - I remember that I swapped the original hard-plastic, 2-part tires with real rubber ones from a later Italeri truck kit.
