Andrew, for such a tight fit it looks like you got her done. I think I will try that epoxy trick on my latest build. It is also a very tight fit and I had to really unspec the headers to make them eventually be able to hook up to the exhaust.

Fun? Yes, you are right Pierre. Yes, I too would like to see the exhaust header connection. Don't keep us in suspense, Andrew.

Re RC’s 641 build - one good Ferr badge deserves another ….   The UMI kit came w markings for 0080 - the Lemans car - so i sourced Lemans decals for the markings for 0010 - but the UMI kit also featured some unique silver (metal?) badging - don’t recall using soerhing like this before - its a decal …

Ok - 2 airbrushed coats of Tam Italian red - after five days - wet sand 8000 and then 12000 - use some soap - then a light coat of carnauba wax - works for me - beginning to lay down the decals - mostly just the badges and the racing numbers - as long as the wax doesn’t cause a problem with the decals - I’m good to go - barring a bout of dyslexia …

The polishing and wax method provides a really nice finish without the "exaggerated" gloss level we see on restored cars. Looks like it should.

Any issues with LeMans decals? I've used them twice and found them to be thin and fragile.

Looking fabulous, Andrew. Love that shade of red and its applied and polished perfectly. On to the decals. Will you be clearing them?

Determined not to clear coat - want the markings as flat as possible - the Shirley family restored the finish on 0010 without too much shine - i think it is period correct - its a concourse car but not a trailer queen - if that makes any sense …

By the way - years / decades before Ferrari would hire a marketer - their bonnet badges were really small - the badge that i used fr the Lemans Decals sheet is tiny - almost scale - the one on the UMI sheet looks great but is actually way over scale …

Grill in - headlight screens were not sufficiently glued - both came off - one back on - i’ll do the other when i’m almost done …
