kilrathy10 Posted October 8, 2021 Posted October 8, 2021 (edited) I say "afterthought" as I was going to make a "Tyrone Malone" style race transporter, but after I lengthened the frame, and seeing all these car haulers being built, I decided to go for it, and build this bad boy... Starting with the Newray Peterbilt 579, as I generally do, (I love that thing; so many possibilities) I stretched the frame and scratched up a bed and trailer out of the many pieces of plastic I have laying around... Lots of .080 and Evergreen styrene... It, easily, holds 8 diecast cars without the slightest hint of sag... Something the Newray offers over kit based models... Not to mention, if I sell it, it will ship well... Pretty confident this will make it to its destination without arriving in pieces... Anyway.... Here it is... Edited October 8, 2021 by kilrathy10 2
vincen47 Posted October 8, 2021 Posted October 8, 2021 That’s an awesome rig. A stinger set up is something you don’t see often at all on here. Really nice scratch-building.
Smoke Wagon Posted October 8, 2021 Posted October 8, 2021 Great scratch building! I like the detail on the roof of the 579 and the trailer looks nice, square, and sturdy. What a cool way to show off those die casts! Is the Flareside pickup on the back in 1:25?

I appreciate the kind sentiments... The F-150 on the back is a TRUE 1/24 scale model from DG productions or Sunnyside... I was able to procure four of them off Ebay over the past year from time to time... They are quite rare, it would appear... As soon as I see them, I try to get them... I have two white, a red, and a blue one... 1
