happy grumpy Posted October 19, 2021 Posted October 19, 2021 Amt ford 8000 snow plow kit. I left out the snow plow, I kept it for another project that is still floating in my head somewhere. These AMT kits are beautiful but boy, if you're not into trucking, the instructions aren't the most helpful, thanks for the internet but a lot of times I scratch my head to figure out what goes where. So for the experts looking please forgive the inaccuracies you might spot. when it comes to big rig, I am totally ignorant. 5
Jim B Posted October 20, 2021 Posted October 20, 2021 There might be some errors in the kit (engine for one), but yours looks great. Very realistic weathering on the box, too.
Doug 1061 Posted October 20, 2021 Posted October 20, 2021 Nice work. Captured that used and abused look.
happy grumpy Posted October 20, 2021 Author Posted October 20, 2021 thank you all for your kind words.
gatorincebu Posted October 20, 2021 Posted October 20, 2021 I like what you've done with this one. Your light weathering looks good from over here. Be Well Gator
grodudulle77 Posted October 20, 2021 Posted October 20, 2021 Awesome weathering, your pics are very neat, it looks like the real !! ??
Rob Hall Posted October 20, 2021 Posted October 20, 2021 Very nice..some excellent weathering and the background and lighting are great. By the way, I think AMT did release a version of the Ford dump truck w/o the snowplow a long time ago.
1959scudetto Posted October 20, 2021 Posted October 20, 2021 Very nice model, Mario - I am surprised that such a Ford can look that good - I rebuilt my Fords 2 or 3 times and nover was satisfied with the result - but yours: GREAT (and the pictures of course, too) !
happy grumpy Posted October 20, 2021 Author Posted October 20, 2021 thank you all for your comments, I really appreciate it.
vincen47 Posted October 20, 2021 Posted October 20, 2021 That’s a great looking build. One to be proud of. Wonderful weathering, I like the treatment of the inside of the dump bed. The night shots with the diorama are fantastic.
AmericanMuscleFan Posted October 21, 2021 Posted October 21, 2021 Superb job Mario! Your truck looks like the real thing and your diorama only adds to the realism.? As others have mentioned, your aging work is very well done. ? Welcome to the forum by the way, it looks like you have a lot to offer!
happy grumpy Posted October 21, 2021 Author Posted October 21, 2021 thanks Francis, I had a full 6 years to build while I was lurking on this forum looking for inspiration and tips .I finally decided to join. I feel right at home here and from the nice comments I received, it looks like I made the right choice. Nice to here from a fellow Quebecois . If you like trucks, stay tuned, I will soon post the truck from the movie duel (I am a big fan). I consider this build the most demanding and most time consuming I ever did but it was worth it, it took a lot of screen captures and just as much of elbow grease. Be well .
TruckerAL Posted October 21, 2021 Posted October 21, 2021 Gorgeous build. These ford lousivilles are a pain to work on, along with all other amt builds lol. Great work and great photos too!
Mike C Posted October 21, 2021 Posted October 21, 2021 That truck came out great, plus that nice diorama you photographed it in.
misterNNL Posted October 21, 2021 Posted October 21, 2021 Very real world Appearing in your Crystal clear photos.
Dale361 Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 Like the weathering! And you are right about the instructions. That is what got me looking around on the forum today. The placement of the engine and trans is a bit sketchy in that kit. 1
Dutzie Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 Nice looking build. You did an excellent job on the weathering. Looks like it’s been in service for many years. 1
