Geno Posted October 31, 2021 Posted October 31, 2021 I've been working on it for a couple of weeks and just finished it last night. Full detail with BMF, carpeting and the PE set from MCG. It is a curbside model. Thanks for looking.☺️ 3
Dragonhawk1066 Posted October 31, 2021 Posted October 31, 2021 Very nice! That had to be a monster to foil!
happy grumpy Posted November 1, 2021 Posted November 1, 2021 Beautiful caddy, A reminder of a time when styling and chrome was everything. I like the color. Nicely put together. A great build of a great car.
TonyW Posted November 1, 2021 Posted November 1, 2021 That is a beautiful build. First class work throughout.
FLHCAHZ Posted November 1, 2021 Posted November 1, 2021 Cool car, and Excellent build! The foil work and detailing is fantastic
Geno Posted November 1, 2021 Author Posted November 1, 2021 (edited) Thanks guys, I do appreciate it, it'll fit nicely in my collection of "famous/movie/star" cars. Edited November 1, 2021 by Geno
Zippi Posted November 1, 2021 Posted November 1, 2021 Nicely done. The color looks great. Foil work is nice. That was a lot of car back in the day.
Bainford Posted November 1, 2021 Posted November 1, 2021 Good looking Caddy. I really like the colour. Marilyn would have looked particularly fine cruising around in that. Nicely done.
espo Posted November 1, 2021 Posted November 1, 2021 I like the paint finish and color. The chrome trim is all very cleanly done. Must have taken the better part on a sheet of Bare Metal Foil. Nice detailing of the lower tail lights in the rear bumper and the headlights. I like how you used the side glass as it adds a different over all look to the model. The interior has a very realistic looking finish.
majel Posted November 1, 2021 Posted November 1, 2021 Excellent job, the BMF looks fantastic as does the paint and interior.
Smitty Posted November 1, 2021 Posted November 1, 2021 You've done a gorgeous job on Marilyn's Cadillac Gene! The colour is unexpected and not often seen which makes it all the more convincing for me. It's expertly applied too. I have to say, I get a little nervous thinking about all that foil work, but you did a great job with it. Inside and out! Thanks for posting it. Eric
Geno Posted November 1, 2021 Author Posted November 1, 2021 Again, thank you all. Eric, the real car was originally Persian Sand on the exterior, George Barris painted it the Gold color for Marilyn to match an outfit color she really liked. The interior was left original, that's what I liked about it, it's different but still compliments the exterior.
doorsovdoon Posted November 1, 2021 Posted November 1, 2021 Man, that's nice! What an amazing car the '59 Cadillac was. Love the colour you chose, and the interior looks super nice, very realistic looking build. Foil work is on point! Very nice.
Just Jim Posted November 1, 2021 Posted November 1, 2021 Fantastic detailing, looks great. All that BMF must have taken hours
Hi-Po Posted November 1, 2021 Posted November 1, 2021 I agree with everyone else, good looking build.
Ulbo Posted November 2, 2021 Posted November 2, 2021 Very very nice one, BMF paint job and grill beautifull? How did you achieve that realistic grill and rear mesh?
David G. Posted November 2, 2021 Posted November 2, 2021 Beautiful work, everything looks spot-on! Excellent photos too. David G.
Plowboy Posted November 2, 2021 Posted November 2, 2021 (edited) Nice looking Caddy Gene! I really like the color on it! Edited November 2, 2021 by Plowboy
lghtngyello03 Posted November 2, 2021 Posted November 2, 2021 Looks great! You did a great job. I hated doing the BMF on my 59 convertible but it was worth it.
Geno Posted November 2, 2021 Author Posted November 2, 2021 (edited) Thanks guys, yes, all that BMF was a beast lol. But like Scott said, well worth the time. The real car was custom painted this color by George Barris to match an outfit that Marilyn had and loved. This wasn't a factory color for '59. It was originally Persian Sand, hence the interior color. Here's the real car. Edited November 2, 2021 by Geno
