cobraman Posted November 17, 2021 Posted November 17, 2021 I didn’t really start out to build this silly thing . I had a couple body pieces left over when after I created the long nose Cobra drag car I plan on building . I meshed these two left over pieces and puttied them up and figured I would see what I could come up with . I had it painted black but messed it up so started over and decided to go with some Tamiya Racing Green I had . No engine or chassis , just a flat sheet of plastic . Parts from my parts box inc. wheels , tires , hood scoop, side pipes , rear spoiler and tail lights , roll bar and straight pin for shifter .
vamach1 Posted November 17, 2021 Posted November 17, 2021 (edited) I’ve never seen a cute Cobra but now I have. I saw a Griffith recently and the wheelbase looked close to your shorty. Edited November 18, 2021 by vamach1
Zippi Posted November 17, 2021 Posted November 17, 2021 Good looking shorty there Ray. Looks really kewl.
happy grumpy Posted November 17, 2021 Posted November 17, 2021 Great build for a multi spare parts project. When I look at it it make me think of a kit car. I like the color, gives it a British accent somehow.
Rich Chernosky Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 Definetly different Ray, but still a Cobra. Very creative and thanks for sharing.
Snake45 Posted November 18, 2021 Posted November 18, 2021 Very cool! Came out better than I expected when you first told of doing it. The proportions remind me a little of an MG Midget. Still think it would look cool on a chopped VW chassis if you ever decide to upgrade it. Well done and model on!
cobraman Posted November 18, 2021 Author Posted November 18, 2021 Thanks Snake, your idea was a good one but I didn't want to invest in another kit and I wanted to get it done and it probably would have taken a couple weeks to get the buggy kit.
Lunajammer Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 (edited) Dare I say it’s adorable? Seriously that’s a nice chunk of work to bring it all together. BTW love the alternative thinking Edited November 19, 2021 by Lunajammer
slusher Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 I really like this Cobra Ray, i like the green.. what color and brand did you use…
spencer1984 Posted November 19, 2021 Posted November 19, 2021 As if the full-sized Cobra wasn't scary enough to drive! Nicely done, the green suits it perfectly.
cobraman Posted November 19, 2021 Author Posted November 19, 2021 Thanks a lot guys ! Carl , the green is Tamiya Racing Green.
TooOld Posted November 20, 2021 Posted November 20, 2021 Great little Cobra Ray , I like the shorty look but not so much the wing . I'd be willing to bet that somewhere somebody has built one just like this !
OneTrickPony Posted November 20, 2021 Posted November 20, 2021 It makes me think of a cooler looking version of an MG Midget. Well done!
cobraman Posted November 20, 2021 Author Posted November 20, 2021 Thank you Bob and Dave. The wing was an afterthought and I too don't think it was a good addition.
