Jesse in Laramie Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 Maybe everyone knows this, but I didn't until an artist friend hooked me up with this stuff nearly 20 years ago. I use a product called " The masters brush cleaner and preservative ", which can be found easily on amazon or art supply houses. I clean my brushes with the appropriate thinner, then dip them in water and clean them according to their io instructions. I cannot tell you how long they last, as I have not had to replace any. great product, not affiliated in any way
OldNYJim Posted November 23, 2021 Posted November 23, 2021 My wife's a professional artist and she swears by this stuff - it will also somewhat salvage brushes that have been ruined by having paint left on them. I need to have a brush cleaning session and try it on mine!
slusher Posted November 26, 2021 Posted November 26, 2021 One thing I do is when cleaning with paint thinner is to roll the brush on a paper towel until clean. Once in a while always wash with soap and water…
nyguy Posted November 26, 2021 Posted November 26, 2021 I've also been using "The Masters" for years now. An excellent product. Paint brushes seem like a smaller investment but they're "tools" and should be treated as such.
