Body damage how to?

Doing the Ford Fairlane "modified stocker" kit and want to put some "rubbing is racing" damage on it

Any good tutorials?

You have a cool idea. A brush with a Dremel sanding drum could give you the scrape effect and spot heat the area with a BIC lighter enough to push the area in for the dent may work. After painting, fill the scrapes with panel line paint. I have never tried this myself, so using a guinea pig body for experimenting would be in order. Show us how you make out. I’m sure it would be useful to others.

I did the rubbings on this car by dabbing different colors on the body and dragging it with a wide flat brush

i havent tried it, but i have seen someone cut out a small area and use crumbled aluminum foil

That looked real at first glance

The crash damage is replicated using thick foil pressed onto the good panel, before bending it up and setting it by back-filling the panel with body filler (to hold its shape). The foil crinkles a lot more realistically than the heat-and-bend technique

kruleworld...I'm guessing you're using heavier foil than the roll in my kitchen?

Is that like the stuff in a restaurant "doggie bag"?

Oven liners and turkey roasting pans are a good source of heavy foil. Cheap at the grocery store.

Well....I do have a turkey roasting pan in the fridge.......I wonder why? ?
