Oldmopars Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 A few years ago I got this 1980 Ramcharger kit and just could not bring myself to build it because it was so ugly, the worst year of Ramcharger ever. I contacted Rico and explained what I wanted and masterfully created the early Plymouth and Dodge grills and hood for this kit. He designed them and listed them on Shapeways. I wanted to make a Plymouth Trailduster for the Forest Service. I got the wheels and tires from Fireball. Decals are Gofer. I added a coffee cup and clipboard to the cab. Yes, I know the hubcaps are Dodge, I couldn’t get the ones I wanted. I’ve had this 98% done for over a year, hence the dust. 3
Smoke Wagon Posted December 4, 2021 Posted December 4, 2021 Nicely done! As for the dust, well, it is a Trailduster after all.
NOBLNG Posted December 4, 2021 Posted December 4, 2021 Well done! Hard to keep it clean in that kind of terrain!?
Zippi Posted December 4, 2021 Posted December 4, 2021 Pretty sharp looking little service truck. Nicely done.
Jim B Posted December 4, 2021 Posted December 4, 2021 Very nice. I didn't know Gofer made USFS decals.
leafsprings Posted December 4, 2021 Posted December 4, 2021 Very realistic and authentic build! The government didn't buy wide large tires and chrome rims!
happy grumpy Posted December 4, 2021 Posted December 4, 2021 Totally agree with you Scott, earlier models of ramcharger and dodge pick ups looked much better, this is what monogram should have aimed for. I bought three of these to have the drive train for different other projects, I still have the bodies. Your model looks just right and authentic as for the dust , well. it's a truck ! ?
kelson Posted December 5, 2021 Posted December 5, 2021 Very different look, are these parts still offered?.
stavanzer Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 Way to go! I remember seeing many Forest Service trucks like this, back when we used to go camping at Yosemite and the Redwoods. Those were the days. I miss them.

Oldcarfan27 Posted December 14, 2021 Posted December 14, 2021 Photos are very effective! Next time crop out the 1:1 car and the model will look real.
tomsheehy Posted December 19, 2021 Posted December 19, 2021 Very nicely done. Grille looks great. NYPD used them as well...

Gerald Haney Posted December 20, 2021 Posted December 20, 2021 very cool build..great photo's.. Well done build!
89AKurt Posted December 20, 2021 Posted December 20, 2021 Considering what you started with, came out great! I think Gofer makes NPS decals too, my dad was a Ranger, but had the Dodge pickup for a patrol vehicle. Dust adds to this, don't worry about it.
