cheyenne93 Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 Takin a short break from building. Be back soon.
Koellefornia Kid Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 I think I found my way to build a custom front for my Monaco. Just a little bit fine tuning and we will be there: thanks for all the tips and suggestions, guys! 2
Beans Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 Finally got the body painted and test fit the engine, which still needs to be completed. I figured that low key and incognito were for the slow... 2

cheyenne93 Posted May 5, 2022 Posted May 5, 2022 Finished the 62 Catalina convertible conversion for the 2022 Cannonball. The nicest black paint job I've ever done. Thanks for lookin. Comments welcomed 3
Lunajammer Posted May 5, 2022 Posted May 5, 2022 Nice work Joel, congrats on the success of your black. There should be a song call Black Pontiac. Don't forget to post it to the finished builds thread at the end of the year, (and wear a hat ?.)
Oldmopars Posted May 6, 2022 Posted May 6, 2022 Well my entry for this years Cannonball is sitting at the starting line ready to go. My U.S. Marshals 1970 Land Rover SIIA is done. Please see it here Under Glass: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/forum/54-model-trucks-pickups-vans-suvs-light-commercial/ 4
Sam I Am Posted May 6, 2022 Posted May 6, 2022 Nice idea! If you get pulled over, all you have to say is you are in pursuit of the other cars. Love that blue....
89AKurt Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 Totally different ball game for me this year. I haven't done any model building for 2 months now. But good news for me, found Texas 3D Customs does requests, and he created the body of the 1958 Mercedes Benz 180, which is very close to the '61 190. Just need to create an interior and a bunch of other things, which will take more time than I have for this contest. So I am still going to do the 190SL, the Honda S2000 engine will be a nice upgrade. Does anyone to custom photo-etch? The radiator star is a must do, and the 190 badge. Think I have photo-etch mesh that would improve the grill. Just for fun..... I might start on the 190SL this weekend, need to make a wood box jig for gluing the body together. Some parts will be saved for the sedan, such as the steering wheel. Side note, found pictures I took several years ago in Utah, of a sad sight. 1

I really like the 190, good looking car, but the features of the resin body all seem a bit "chubby". Like it was meant to be a 1/32 scale and was just scaled up. I am sure that you will make it into one great looking car.
