I'm hoping to see Scrooged and Bad Santa this year. Haven't seen either one of them in years, I seem to remember both were pretty good.

Might watch Nat Lamp Christmas Vacation, too.

I love the Christmas scene in Full Metal Jacket, brief as it is. B)

I watched 'Fatman' the other evening, very unusual Christmas tale w/ Mel Gibson.  I liked both 'Bad Santa' movies, watched them last year.  I may watch 'Die Hard'  again, one of my all time favorite Christmas season films.  I've seen 'National Lampoons Christmas Vacation' probably 20 times, may rewatch...

I need to watch 'A Christmas Story' again, been about a decade. I did visit the house used in it a couple years ago, it's about 6 miles north of me.

Huge fan of Jim Carrey and the Grinch movie. Of course Christmas Vacation, A Christmas Story, and a couple other favorites are Fred Claus and Four Christmases. My wife likes the old classics  like Miracle on 34th Street, It's a Wonderful Life and those Bing Crosby ones but they don't do much for me.

I think it's funny when Bad Santa is on one of the regular channels and they have to cut so much out of the movie. No point in showing it.

btw, not a movie but I have to watch my Red Green Christmas show every year.

Oh yea u can’t watch Bad Santa on regular tv.Like you said, they cut so much out of the movie that it’s not even worth watching it.The movie is hilarious, and Billy Bob,Thorton is just so funny as a total drunk. But of course Xmas Vacation is great too.

Interesting thread.

They're running It's a Wonderful Life here at a restored 1935 theater all day December 21.

I went a few years back, will probably go this year.

'Bout as close to time travel as you can get at the moment...

There is a very old black and white film about Scrooge based on Charles Dickens novel A Christmas Carol that has to be the oldest and best for capturing the mood of this period story.

It was made back in the 1950's in the UK by Tower Productions and starred Alastair Sim, Michael Hordern and George Cole, all very distinguished English actors in their day.

The Alastair Sims version is my favorite as well.

It is a classic. We try to catch it every year.

For us it's:

The Muppet Christmas Carol

The Santa Clause movies

Rise of the Guardians (if you consider that a Christmas movie)

And the good ol' classic, The Polar Express ?
