Looking forward to seeing your pro street Ford truck Bob. Just the little modding I'm doing on the 34 Ford pickup has got me itching to try more. It is fun. I'm following your build and it's already gave me ideas on doing a pro street mod on a 65 Chevy stepside.

It is fun isn't it James.  I have the 65 as well.  I'd really like to get ahold of the 1951 Henry J Gasser new release from Revell

I think you’re on the right track with it now Bob! I like the idea of leaving the fenders stock so that it looks semi-original from a distance.

Find another set of stock appearing fenders and by swapping them from side to side and cutting them to the correct height they make some really different appearing tubs. Depending on what you you have to do with the suspension you will either have to form something between them or use some plastic sheet to fill the remains of the wheel opening that will be left, unless they are low enough to not have any opening left.

Thanks James.  Just put the body in the purple haze.  Probably take a week to strip it since it has enamel on it.

The Purple bath will remove enamels quick and easy, but lacquer is extremely difficult to get all of it off. If it was just sprayed over an unprepped or unprimed body the paint will just fall off. Just remove it after a couple of hours and with hot water and a stiff toothbrush clean off the loose paint since it can be deceiving since it will appear that nothing is happening since the paint will sometimes just hang in place and remain basically intact just floating in place.

This truck is gonna look sweet. I like that you tubbed it and the exterior will look "stock."

Have you chosen a new color yet? Or will it be black again?

Thanks Kyle.  Right now the body is in the Purple Pond.  I did some research and I have choosen a new color.  I'm thinking about a flat white with a clear pearl on top of that.  All the bumpers and trim will be black or gunmetal.  Somthing along the lines of the 56 in the pics.

That should look sweet. I have always liked pearl white paint jobs.

Me to Kyle.  I like to be a little different.  I built this one (box Stock) earlier this year and when I started this project I got to thinking about this one.
