64SS350 Posted December 21, 2021 Posted December 21, 2021 I started this in 2017 for the Cannonball Run Comm. Build, and just got busy...or...?? This is the '67 Camaro Bumble Bee. Conversion parts are from C1 Models, and scratch building the rest. I made a jig to etch in the side detail that is missing from the kit body and removed the front seam lines. 1
64SS350 Posted December 21, 2021 Author Posted December 21, 2021 (edited) Updates; lowered the stance in front, made new springs in rear to raise it a bit. Inserted motor, fabricated entire exhaust. Now working on the interior, fabbed the roll cage, adding racing seats, and customizing the dash and console. Edited December 21, 2021 by 64SS350 2
NOBLNG Posted December 21, 2021 Posted December 21, 2021 Nice mods Karl. It’s looks like it’s coming together nicely.?
Cool Hand Posted December 21, 2021 Posted December 21, 2021 Of to a good to start, liking the direction you are going with the build.
Keef Posted December 22, 2021 Posted December 22, 2021 Looking good so far! I’ll be following this build. Is this the Revell kit?
64SS350 Posted December 22, 2021 Author Posted December 22, 2021 Yes, the 2 in 1 kit. Thanks for the comments, it's been going well since I restarted the project.
TransAmMike Posted December 23, 2021 Posted December 23, 2021 Wow Carl, that is a great job on the interior, very realistic?

Just keep watching the guys on here and experiment, learn, have fun with it. I'm still trying to improve my finish painting skills...now that can be frustrating! Thanks for the compliments, it's been going well this time around.
64SS350 Posted December 26, 2021 Author Posted December 26, 2021 (edited) Decided to give him an "Optimus" battery, built from scratch. Edited December 28, 2021 by 64SS350
64SS350 Posted January 23, 2022 Author Posted January 23, 2022 Wheels and tires done! Playing with options for body paint.
Mattilacken Posted January 24, 2022 Posted January 24, 2022 Nice to see some progress on this beast! Nice work on those wheels!
64SS350 Posted January 24, 2022 Author Posted January 24, 2022 The wheels did come out nice, but I guess I never posted a pic of them. I recasted them because of issues with the stud heads missing or braking easily. I finally discovered a way to replace the studs/bolts.
64SS350 Posted February 28, 2022 Author Posted February 28, 2022 An update, these are in process parts I've been working on. I finally received the LS Intake from Clearly Scale, and fabricated an air duct and some coil pack covers. The grills pictured are of course stock, then the C1 version, and my replication. The C1 grill is short and looks like window screen. I'm using the custom grills from the AMT 64 Impala to make it like the 1:1. I plan to cut out the stock grill, and fill with my version 2
64SS350 Posted March 8, 2022 Author Posted March 8, 2022 Had several areas where the paint reacted with something, not sure what. So back to the drawing board and into the purple pond.
adamelvis Posted March 14, 2022 Posted March 14, 2022 You have done some great work on your fabrication and upgraded details. I also have the "High Octane" 67 Camaro Bumblebee transkit from C1 Models. This is one of my planned future builds, so I will be following your progress. TCB, Adam
64SS350 Posted August 29, 2022 Author Posted August 29, 2022 So I realized I never updated this build. In the following month of the last post, I stripped the paint, touched up the body work and repainted the black. It's been in the paint drying cabinet since then. I hope to get a paint booth in by winter to apply the clear. I don't want to strip this one again. 1
MeatMan Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 Glad to see you get back on it. Looking good minus the paint issue. I just had a similar one myself on my current CBR build.
