spencer1984 Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 Trying to eke out a couple of late WIPs before the end of the year, and just got this one finished. It started as Revell's Custom Cadillac Lowrider. Four-door conversion, all-new front clip, modified trunk and rear bumper, custom seats, scratch built door panels, modified dash, and some junk in the trunk. A full writeup of what went into it is available here, and as always any comments/criticisms are welcome. Trunk details include the spare, some Lard Lad donut boxes, Duff Beer, Buzz Cola, and an errant piece of fuel rod made from a glow-in-the-dark toy part. A group shot with the other "The [Family]" cartoon cars I've done: 5
randyc Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 I have the Hotwheels version of Simpsons and Jetsons here in my office. No Fintsone mobile, though. Nice models.
Sledsel Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 Pretty cool build. Most definitely outside the box.
stavanzer Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 Outstanding Build, Sir! You have gotten even the small details correct. Way to finish the year.
doorsovdoon Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 Love it! You done a great job replicating the car. Turning real world cars into cartoon cars is very hard to pull off without looking like just another car, but your build is instantly recognisable! Very well done. 1
KWT Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 Very nicely done. It definitely looks the part... awesome as always.
spencer1984 Posted December 29, 2021 Author Posted December 29, 2021 Thanks, guys! 20 hours ago, randyc said: I have the Hotwheels version of Simpsons and Jetsons here in my office. No Fintsone mobile, though. I think the Jetsons car my be the only one of those I have in diecast. The First Edition/New Models series Hot Wheels did from 1997 to 2012 were the only ones I actually searched for, anything else was "if I happen to see it in the store..."
happy grumpy Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 really nice and cool idea and it looks just like the cartoon. Homer would be proud. " DOH !!! "
Rob Hall Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 Way cool idea and results..love the extras in the trunk..
kruleworld Posted December 30, 2021 Posted December 30, 2021 I saw this on your youtube channel. it's an amazing conversion.
Dan Hay Posted December 31, 2021 Posted December 31, 2021 That’s pretty dang cool! Now build a replica of “The Homer”. Remember that one?

The Homer is definitely going to happen, I have the PL kit that I started way back. Likely the Canyonero, too, but I was hoping to start with Lindberg's 1/20 Ford Explorer for that one so it looks properly ginormous next to the other cars. Now I just need to find one at a reasonable price. 2
Koellefornia Kid Posted December 31, 2021 Posted December 31, 2021 Ay caramba, That is cool! Love the trunk details!
