Well....I think I have picked my next project for the start of 2022.  It's the AMT 1953 Victoria and will be built stock.  I painted this some months back in preparation for the cold winter months.  I found that I forgot to sand out a couple mold lines by the headlights after it was painted so I sat it aside.  I've cleaned up the mold lines and I'll brush on a little of the craft paint and a little Pledge Revive-it and see if I can polish it.  If that turns out ok I'll move forward on this build.  I'm also debating on leaving the top of the car green or strip it and paint it white.  If I go with stripping it I'll have to wait until warmer weather comes back.  The body was air brushed with Anita's Dew Green mixed 50/50 with Windex and cleared with Rust-Oleum Crystal Clear Acrylic Lacquer.

I think for a stock build a two tone would be the choice, unless it’s a base model??‍♂️.

I do like that colour, it’s like a cloudy pea green.

Yeah I think your right.   I need to get after that top and paint it white.  Just need some good weather.

Well fella's.  I have some white on hand so that's what it'll have to be.  Somebody send me some good weather so I can paint ☺

I got to thinking about the white for the top of the Crown Vic and thought I would go for it.  The temp was 62° but the humidity was around 75%.  Not ideal conditions but I remembered how the Rust-Oleum flat white handles the worst conditions better that others so I wiped off the wax and got it sanded down and painted.  I'll have to be a little more picky on the weather when I spray the clear lacquer but the white came out fine.

The White top would look good, or maybe a dark Metallic Green color.

Thank's Dave.  I think I'll go with white since I have it on hand.

Looks good, I like how you did the protection for the green.

Yup.  Had to barrow some of the wife's cling wrap.

Another Ford. LOL!

Nice job on the paint work, colour is a good match for a stock build.

Thank's man.  I think the white top breaks up all that green.  Yeah well I'm a Big Ford & Chevy guy.  Before my 1949 Chevy 5 window pickup I currently have I had a 1937 Ford pickup Street Rod Old School.  These are 1:1 that I'm referring to.

While cutting parts for the engine off the tree I came across what looks like a 3rd exhaust manifold.  This 3rd manifold is part #71 and it is not listed on the instruction sheet.  I'm assuming it's just an extra part???

Don't know for sure but the single exhaust would have been standard on this model. The driver's side would cross under the engine and join the down pipe on the passenger side going to the muffler. Does this look like a possibility?

Thank's Dave.  Well....the pics I've seen online of the 1:1 your are correct.  This kit has two mufflers and tail pipes. I'm not a big stickler for it being true to stock just as long as it looks good.  I was just curious as to what that 3rd exhaust manifold was doing on the tree.

Was the kit at some point a 2 in 1? Might be a left over

You could be right bill.  I've had kits that had a lot of extra parts in the past.

This year I'm going to try and slow down and produce a better looking model.  Plus I'm going about things differently like trial fitting parts before paint and doing moc ups while still in the raw state.  I got the holes drilled out on the heads and glued to the block and also got the distributor wired.  I really don't like using Testor enamel as it seems to never dry quick enough for me and I always mess it up by not waiting long enough.

Bob, have you heard of "Japan Drier" ? I've never used it but maybe it's time; I've noticed lately that Testor's paint doesn't dry like it used to. It's worth a look.

I just peeked under my 1:25 53 Convertible and it has duals. I wish I could find the instructions for that kit. I'll keep looking ?

Here are the sections in my instructions that cover the compete exhaust system.
