Here is another build I started a while ago that I am finally getting back to. My poor Malibu is never going to get finished! Wish I would’ve took pics when I started this one. The chassis in the kit was originally for a car version so the rear wheel wells had to be cut away for the figment of the truck bed. That was probably the most difficult part so far. Otherwise pretty fun kit to build. Chassis is just about finished though looking at the pics, I noticed I forgot to install the ladder bars! Opps. I’ll getter on. All box stock except for the aluminum magneto and plug wires. Enjoy. Comment’s always welcome.

Lots of paint work today. Scrubbed the molding lines from the cab along with the drip rails, a little cleanup on the front clip as well, all before primer and paint.  Next up, interior.

Nice!.... What red paint did you use???....?

Thank you sir. The red is Duplicolor Bright Red.  Letting the paint gas out. I should start applying decals tonight or tomorrow.

Got a little progress done on this neat little drag truck. Dash painted and interior assembled. I used some oil based Testors silver for the gage background plate. Much easier than foiling it and I really like the way it turned out! Got all of the decals on, then three coats of clear. More assembly tomorrow.

Well, a little closer to the finish line. Finished the bed and front clip along with installing the radiator hoses, shocks, rear bumper, and blower scoop.  I figured out in a previous mock-up the bed has to go on first to locate the cab onto the frame. Cab assembly will be next. Figured I would give the clear a little more cure time.

Finished! Off the bench and into the display case. Very happy the way it turned out. Glued the front clip open due to it just didn’t line up very well. A common problem with a lot of parts on this kit but overall still, a fun kit to build.  More pix in the UG.

You truck looks wonderful!!!! I am building the same truck now and  I have some questions.   Did you have fit issues?  I did a lot of dry fitting before paint and almost every single hole was to small or there was a gap that needed to be filled or something didn't line up at all.  For example the mounts for the gas tank are way too wide for the space given and the hinge for the hood is too narrow for the frame of the truck even the "tailgate" was too small for the bed and I had to fill the gap with filler and do a lot of sanding before I sent it to paint.  Ive been fitting this every single step and it's no longer a fun build.  I'm just trying to get through this buld to just so I don't have an unfinished kit on my shelf.

Love the ole 40 Willy's pickup.  Nice job and the red looks killer.  I built this kit earlier this year.
