yellowsportwagon Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 A friend gave me this as a rebuilder. The original front suspension was broken so I went a different direction. I put a Revell NASCAR chassis under it. The 401 AMC engine came from a Jeep Honcho kit. Iceman Hellcat supercharger and Steven Zimmerman’s beautiful wheels round it out. 10
moparfarmer Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 Looks real good and color and stance are spot on..Very well done and super clean..
bisc63 Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 +1; that's a really nice looking model! Well done.
Venom Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 (edited) Very nice. The wheels fit the body style nicely and the paint color looks great! Edited January 22, 2022 by Venom
Dodge Driver Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 Great job on the mods while staying true to the factory look.

I feel most sixties car look their best before some yahoo starts messing with the body. I feel if they sit right with the right wheels and some modernizing of the suspension and engine that’s all they need. 2
Snake45 Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 Very very VERY nice and something you don't see every day! Extremely well done and model on!
1972coronet Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 Great save ! Your choice of colours really ties the whole look together. Good on you for keeping it AMC-powered, too !
Beamerman Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 Amazing! I´ve never seen one build cool like that! Great job!
espo Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 Beautiful looking build. When built in this fashion you can see just how good looking these cars were if done correctly. I like the NASCAR chassis as this also gives a nice stance and suspension. The paint finish and color along with the trim details look great.
Koellefornia Kid Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 Awesome! Never saw an Ambassador looking that nice! Great colour, wheels and stance! ???
Can-Con Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 Love that !! Great to see something unique. ???
Sportabout Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 This is cool AMC and very clean build. Very smart decision to change the chassis because Jo-Han used wrong coil spring and torque tube rear suspension in this model although '68 Ambassador used open driveshaft and four-link axle-location system.

True I forgot about that part
Claude Thibodeau Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 Hi Tim! Wow, very nice, unique, and worthy of a booth at the SEMA Show. You dared to be different, bravo! CT
bogger44 Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 Dude that is wicked awesome! Great choice in going with a NASCAR chassis, that stance is just right. I'm in agreement with leaving the body alone (though I'm usually ok with some small mods) when restomodding cars from this era, suspension, wheels/tires, and engine are all that is needed.
satterwhite78 Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 Beautiful! Hadn't seen any posting of late but knew something good was gonna come out of your garage!

Not because of the shoulder just not in the mood I guess. But it’s coming back and I’ve got a metric ton of unfinished projects!!
