jjsipes
Just completed my first model for 2022. This is my version of Richard Petty's 1970 Sportsman Dart. Not the best kit in my opinion nor my best effort. Just glad to have another Petty car in my collection. Started with the Amt reissue of this kit. Testors Big Bad Blue with Tamiya Gloss Clear. Had some fitment issues all over, body and chassis.
afx
Nice work.
'70 Grande
A great looking build! I agree; this kit has some "issues" when it comes to getting it all together. How much work was it to open-up the vents in the cowl... that looks fantastic!
Toys4Don2
This kit does have some quirks, but you definitely prevailed!!
sflam123
Very nice work!! May have been a pain, but it turned out well!

I didn't open the cowl vent, they are just molded that deep.
jjsipes
Thanks for the comments. Like I said, not my best effort but looks good with my other Petty builds.

TonyK
Very nice finished model! I've read about the problems with this kit and have gathered notes from builders if I decide to try it sometime. I think you conquered any problems from what I see.
ZTony8
Congratulations on finishing that model. How did you manage to get the front suspension pieces to play nice with each other? That's what's holding progress on my build of this car.

I glued the upper A arms on first, let them dry good and then moved to the rest of the front suspension.
slusher
Very nicely done…
ZTony8
When I started in on mine I attached the lower arms/ torsion bars first . My thinking was that the lower pieces had a definite fixed location whereas the upper arms didn't have that. But even that didn't help much as the wheel camber was excessive. So the unfinished model sits in the box.
