johnfin
Guy at hobby store told me that testors went out of business in 19' and the glue is no longer available. Is this true?
Ace-Garageguy
19 feet? Interesting. Testors is still in business, but they're owned by Rustoleum now and have dropped a lot of product lines. https://www.testors.com/pages/about-testors/our-history/ What kind of glue are you looking for? If you want liquid, there are alternatives that are chemically the same. Can't help you if it's tube gloo you're after. 1972coronet
If it's orange-label glue you seek, get a bottle of Tamiya. Much, much better product anyhow. I recommend their ''Thin'' glue as well (green-label bottle) .
RSchnell
Like Bill posted, Testors is still in business. What part of FL are you in John?

Is this true? I've seen tons of that glue at hobby lobby and hobby town in a little brown box. Honestly man he probably lied to you so you would get better glue lol. Cement glue you have Tamiya along with others but Tamiya extra thin & extra thin quick setting is the best. CA you got zap, BSI, tons of other great ones, along with any insta set you're golden. Mark
Local store owners (any store, not just hobby shops) will throw stories like that around, hoping you will buy what they have in stock instead of wanting something else. They can't sell what they don't have.
vintagerpm
Don't worry if you can't get Testor's. There are still glues from Revell, Faller, Plastruct, Tamiya, ...
espo
IO have been using Model Master Liquid Cement for many years as my main go to. I was recently in need of a new supply and decided to try thew new Revell products. Their Contacta Professional is very similar to the Model Master I had been using but the applicator seems to work better for me. Their Contacta Clear also works well. I mention these as an alternative to be considered if you are unable to find the glue you are looking for.
OldTrucker
I'm still a tube glue user and probably always will be! Just picked up a two pack of Testors from Hobby Lobby. day before yesterday.
Tabbysdaddy
The only thing I like about tube glue is the way it smells. 1
Straightliner59
I use Weld-On 4. I keep one Testors bottle that I mix Testors and the Weld-On, for times I need something a little slower. Straight Testors if I really need adjustment time.
bluestringer
I use the Mr. CementS, get it at hobby lobby. Just as good as the Tamiya, which is not sold at my HL. I also use the Extreme Power Medium sold at hobby lobby, good stuff. And I always keep good old super glue around, lots of choices at Wally World. That stuff will seep out of the joint and ruin the finish( guess how I know). I'd use it only to do basic assembly. Their thicker glue ( orange cap) works great for anything. bbowser
I still use Testor's tube glue some but have gone more with Plastruct Bondene liquid. I also use a lot of Tacky Glue and Micro Krystal Klear as well as super glue depending on the application. All depends on the need.
JJ Deuce
I starting using the Faller after a friend recommended it, and I really like it. the needle applicator is nice, even if I have to clean it frequently. Also, I keep a couple bottles of the liquid cements (testors and Plastruct).
Snake45
I bought my last tube of Testor glue in the mid '70s, just in case I ever found need of it. I still have it somewhere. Haven't needed it yet.
steveracer
I use it at times when I need a part to stick on, and I can adjust from there. Larger parts that is. I use it for the wheel/tires on say, monogram stock cars where I need the car to set right and adjust the wheel alignment. Let sit overnight and boom…..
