Dominik Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 1958 Ford Thunderbird (monogram, #2759) Long Years ago, i had this Thunderbird in the collection. It had New rims, nice interior...and after years, i thought, there is something wrong... here is a picture before: I offered it because, i was not sure, what changes have to be done, that it is "awesome". Than, one day in the first year of the pandemic, Brian came accross and he had the final thoughts: Change the wheels to steelies, make them used. So i casted different wheels and changed them. rebuild the complete former "new looking" interior. weathered the headlights, drilled one out, weathered the rear lights. al last, i cracked the windshield, weathered the engine and NOW, it was perfect! Thank you Brian!
espo Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 Great job. Looks like it just got pulled out of the swamp somewhere. This type of finish can often be harder to accomplish than a shiny one.
bisc63 Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 That's nice weathering. Espo is right, it looks like a flood victim! Well done.
happy grumpy Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 What a big difference a few changes will do. Great weathering, Like Espo said, this type of finish demands more planning than a regular paint job, I can attest to that.
Dominik Posted May 3, 2023 Author Posted May 3, 2023 long time "out of order" i have to say thank you ? I hope to upload my last finished models soon.
Rattlecan Dan Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 Oh' that poor dirty bird! Some really great weathering detail.
